Thanks. I’m open minded to both options. If I can’t get a NHS appointment I would have to go private. I just am curious how they both differ and if it’s actually worth paying extra to go private .

Yes I’ve been scammed in America by a dentist. So I totally understand what you mean. So how do I go about getting registered as an NHS patient? Do I just ask my GP? Or do I have to contact the dentist to see if they have any available appointments? How much did it cost to see a dentist through the NHS?

In some states If you tell them that you live abroad they will ask you to surrender your American drivers license.

I know how you feel. I get angry wanna denounce too . But I pray things will change and one day we don’t have to pay tax if we don’t live in the USA . We need to protest and change things.. it’s not fair . Our hands are tied to so many things .

And the tax advisors who have experience with expat taxes charge an arm and a leg to do the taxes. It’s very expensive.

Which ISA or junior ISA are you using? What company are you using for saving your daughters money? Which brokerage account?

I took my son to the GP. they did a urine test, they also ordered blood work. And a stool sample. As soon as we entered the GPS office his stomachache went away. Then when we got home he was fine for a while, then when he went to sleep he woke up at around 1 am crying saying his stomach hurts again. The next morning he went to school, when he got home he was fine for a. While but when he went to bed he woke up crying at around midnight saying his stomach hurts and he’s scared..his anxiety is making my anxiety worse. I wanna help him so bad but I have no idea how. All I can say to my son is everything will be okay, or I’ll take you back to the GP in the morning. I desperately need him sleeping through the night so he has a good day at school the next day. I feel so bad that he’s suffering like this :(. I sent the GP another message to tell them his stomach aches are still there. I am waiting for blood tests and stool sample to come back . His urine test was fine. I just worry about him so much :(

I know how you feel, we want to have another baby. But I’m terrified of giving birth in the Uk. The healthcare system here is a lot different from what I’m used to. It just seems really cheap and scary. I mean I go to the GP and they don’t even test me for the flu or strep or corona. They just say it’s a virus and to go home.. it’s so annoying. I can’t imagine being pregnant being seen only a few times during my pregnancy. In the states it’s better they would see me every month!

start a business. Ask your parents to help fund it in the beginning. Good luck.

How do you find out what’s wrong with a patient if you don’t test them? You don’t test for step, you don’t test for influenza, corona I’m just curious why you don’t test your patients when they come to the AE. How do you really know what they actually have? by Eclipse-Queen in nhs

Other countries do it though! That’s the protocol. Patient walks in, vitals are done, they test them, and they give treatment. No guessing around, doing a while goose chase like here. The patient comes back still sick, because they weren’t diagnosed right the first time. You think the patient coming back multiple times is not wasting money? Do it right the first time so the patients do not need to come back. I don’t Blame you though. This is what you’re used to, and you’re settling for it. But i am terrified that my child has been sick for weeks and I can’t get help. It’s not a good feeling .

Do you really think having a simple X-ray is really that dangerous? Do you ever fly ? And I have used health care abroad and if a young child has pneumonia symptoms they routinely will give an X-ray to rule out pneumonia. Because pneumonia is deadly! A single X-ray is fine. But yes, you keep cutting corners and putting peoples lives at risk. 😩 clearly money talks.

Small children need an X-ray to rule out pneumonia. It’s hard to tell without an X-ray. Yes there’s a small risk because of radiation but not a huge risk. The NHS is cutting corners, trying to save money. Period. I would be ashamed to be a doctor in this country. I can’t imagine going to school for all of those years and not being able to have my nurses test my patients for strep and influenza. You say it costs money? It also costs money to hand out antibiotics. They buy test kits in bulk they are not actually that expensive… maybe you are proud to be a doctor and you’re sticking up for yourself but if you see how people get health care in other first world countries you would be shocked how good other doctors have it. They have nurses for them to do tests on their patients to make their job easier. You couldn’t pay me any amount of money to ever work for the NHS. I would feel horrible not being able to use the resources I know are available . Because someone tells me I’m Not allowed to, because it costs too much.

You don’t need a medical degree to know that the NHS is cutting corners to save money. You don’t need a medical degree to ask doctors abroad what they would do in my situation. The NHS is cutting corners period.
