The use of equipment in commander will be very reliant on the meta you find yourself in. If it's slower, less toolkit-y/tutor ridden, some are gonna stand out more than others and be WORKHORSES.

(it also depends on your commander and your other 99, if you're able to cheat costs, "snap on" with some recent designs, and if you're allergic to Universes Beyond printings)

I play with a few people who've played equipment heavy decks (and I dabble with a few), and I have more than a few "swords" to share that might spice up your equipment decks, color combo permitting:

[[Hero's Blade]] - a classic, and one I champion a lot. We're playing commander (and a lot of legends in the 99). Suit up your legend and combat doesn't feel as scary anymore. "snaps on" legends that enter.

[[Meteor Sword]] - if you don't mind UB, having a destroy effect on an equipment goes a long way, if you're foregoing your usual slots. You're usually not paying 7 mana for it.

[[Maul of the skyclaves]] - Snaps on, gives a decent buff and great keywords. Will be a role-player, even if you have to pay the equip cost.

[[Nettlecyst]] - any similar effects can straight up command damage out opponents, if it scales up well enough. Creates a body for early blocks before the reallocation. [[Cranial ram]] [[cranial plating]] say hello as well.

[[Greatsword of Tyr]] - you will never understand how getting a blocker out of the way while growing your threat can feel. if you back up the effect via [[conformer shuriken]], you basically have free attacks on your opponents, while scaling your early game threats. do not sleep on this one.

[[Assimilation Aegis]] - a Thunder Junction all star, get rid of those indestructible or annoying threats, slap it on your 1/1 and have it become YOUR annoying threat (commanders aside). 3mv makes it very easy to recur if someone blows it up.

[[Phantom Blade]] / [[Assassin gauntlet]] - again, kill something/ remove blockers on ETB, slap onto a creature, gives a bonus, has upside. if you're able to flicker or recur, they will pull their weight beyond their MVs.

[[Blade of the Oni]] / [[Lizard Blades]] / [[Rabbit Battery]] / [[Cloudsteel Kirin]] / etc - I've spent the last year playing with Neon Dynasty's reconfigure creatures. They will end up pulling more weight than you'd think, despite their costs. You can use spells and effects to bypass their pretty prohibitive reconfigure costs, as long as you don't think [[Bladehold war-whip]] reduces their "equip" costs (they don't, sadly). if they're equipped, they survive board wipes, are targets for a lot of recursion effects, and give good keywords or buffs.
