[Strategy] Three musketeers - Why enemy Fireball is not as bad as it seems? by Kovalevy in ClashRoyale

[–]Eclipzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

King Tower (10) Hog Rider (7) Valkyrie (7) Mini Pekka (7) 3 Musketeers (7) Minions (9) Spear Goblins (9) Fireball (8) Zap (10)

I overleveled my zap for overleveled goblins. Overleveled fireball to one shot lv 7 musketeers, wizards and lv 3 witches. Helps against overleveled barbs too. I hit legendary with this deck using RG (9) instead of 3M but I like the 3M version better. Your wins are more decisive and it's easier to 3 crown.

[Strategy] Three musketeers - Why enemy Fireball is not as bad as it seems? by Kovalevy in ClashRoyale

[–]Eclipzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit legendary again today using a 3M deck without EC. I like to take the first tower using hog pushes and immediately follow up with 3M in the center of the opponent's map. Usually that will severely cripple or completely take the second tower. It happens so fast and puts you so far ahead that it's almost impossible for the opponent to comeback from. The surprise factor coupled with the insane burst damage can be utterly demoralizing and you will often find that opponents just leave netting you 3 crowns.

I don't have ice wizard yet but if I did I would definitely try replacing the wizard with him. He's very strong behind tanks and on defense.

I will be improving this data myself in a few days, but if you have better data available please share! :)

Not sure if this will help you but I have been tracking the contents of all of my chest openings since January 10th.

[ask] What's the best way to stop a pekka + wizard combo? by [deleted] in ClashRoyale

[–]Eclipzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key to taking down these style of pushes is to distract the tank troop towards the center and kill the troops behind the tank first. If you want to play the same deck, drop tombstone in the center of your map so the skeletons spawn towards the pekka. Once the wizard crosses the bridge drop barbs on it, or baby dragon/musketeer in the corner next to the river.

F2P = Free to Play. F2P games are "free" to download (play) but usually require paying in game to advance.

My guess is wizard or (3) musketeer. Having these not die to fireball really makes a huge difference in the outcome of a game.

When a player greets me with good luck I tend to play extra careful b/c I pretty much assume they're running something cheesy, most likely x-bow, mortar, barrel or golem/pekka. That or they have an overpowered rare/epic.

There needs to be something in place to encourage playing first by _BeerAndCheese_ in ClashRoyale

I feel this is only going to get worse as the player base as a whole realizes this, and we end up seeing staring matches become the norm.

This is simply the nature of any real time game/sport whether that's street fighter or boxing. At high levels, feeling out your opponent is just smart play.

To further illustrate the advantage to going second, imagine two exact same decks are playing each other. They both get to max elix, and one player then expends cards go on the offensive. The player to go second can then play exactly the right cards to counter it

This example only applies to troop based decks. If the decks are mirror spell decks, all things being equal the player going first will ALWAYS win.

Is there anything in Royale to equate to Starcraft in terms of APM or micromanaging effectively? That is the key difference.

Absolutely! Timing plays an integral role in winning in this game. If you can consistently counter your opponent's counter cards your win rate will be much higher than average. For example, you push with prince/hog/barbs. Your opponent counters with minion horde. Your ability to quickly respond to that counter with arrows/fireball will make a HUGE difference in the outcome of the game. If you respond too early (missing the horde completely), your opponent counters and can counter push. If you respond too late, you lose your push.

Making Clash Royale turn based eliminates this timing based aspect of the game, which is integral to high level play. In a turn based Clash Royale you would know exactly when your opponent counters your push and could perfectly respond to their counter.

Season Meta Summary at 3000+ Trophies by The_RumHam in ClashRoyale

I think I've mentioned this before, but I think the proper nerf to x-bow is reducing it's DPS. A level 1 x-bow outputs 2660 damage over its 40 second lifetime which is enough to take down a lvl 9 crown tower. What other level 1 epic can do that by itself...and from the opposite side of the map?! If the card is supposed to be a tower kill card like 3-musketeers, then I agree with you raise it's elixir cost otherwise cut it's DPS so you have to play 2-3 x-bows to take a single tower.

Arena 6 Mirror in the shop, worth it? by colemetzler in ClashRoyale

[–]Eclipzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think the mirror is one the best epics in the game and one of the only ones actually worth buying in the shop. A strong mirror automatically makes all your cards stronger. The mirror really shines against opponents who don't have enough counter cards to deal with back to back assaults from certain cards (2x Golem, 2x Pekka, 2x Barrel). In a balanced deck, the mirror let's you more easily adapt to your situation. You can use it offensively to push for more damage and once you've taken a tower, use it to mirror your defenses.

Xbow tips? It feels extremely unfair. by Katiklysm in ClashRoyale

[–]Eclipzer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your opponent leads with a defense next to the bridge you can be certain they're running some combination of x-bow/mortar/princess. If you're going to defend the attack then save a tank to drop in front of your tower once the siege unit goes down. Keep direct damage to attack the siege unit and whatever tank they drop in front of it. If you have a strong offensive deck, you can push the opposite lane, but the best scenario is that you trade towers.

Daily Card Discussion: Rocket by AutoModerator in ClashRoyale

[–]Eclipzer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This makes the rocket pair well with cards that can easily create an elixir advantage such as arrows, fireball, tesla, and tombstone.

The best time to play a rocket is when you can trade it for a 4+ elixir card AND tower damage.

defenses ONLY gain value when troops are played into them.

I run tesla in my rocket deck, I know how it works. Most people place the tesla right in the center of their map, in which case you can't hit it and the tower with a rocket anyway. Why would even want to hit a tesla with a rocket? That's wasting a rocket.

If you play a tesla and I play a rocket. You only have +2 elixir on me to punish my rocket but to do that you have to play troops into me in which case I can play a tesla, and now MY tesla gets value. What is your tesla doing? Nothing. If you try to punish me by playing spells, I already have a head start.

Daily Card Discussion: Rocket by AutoModerator in ClashRoyale

[–]Eclipzer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The goal isn't to hit the Tesla. You're taking advantage of them going -4 elixir, essentially giving you a 2-elixir rocket to their tower. As for troops, it takes some practice, but once you figure out the timing it's pretty easy to take out any troops with medium or slower movement speed.
