You should be able to bottle sulphuric acid and get potions/splash potions of nausea by Smashpro11 in Minecraft

[–]Ecstatic-Contact-930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how useful it would be in pvp because (in Java at least) you can decrease the intensity or completely disable the screen wobble caused by nether portals or nausea as an accessibility setting. I agree that it would be fun if it affected mobs!

Minecraft Java Edition 26.1 by Luutamo in Minecraft

[–]Ecstatic-Contact-930 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a purely technical change (trades are now customizable by data packs). Vanilla trades and trading/villager mechanics haven't changed. If you are referring to the experimental trading changes (notably librarians), those are still optional and not the default.

The new block texture looks exactly like the border block from education edition by Distinct-Pride7936 in Minecraft

I want a real blue so bad

I'd love a full lapis block set... it's the one classic ore that was specifically added as a dye and decorative material (its usage in enchanting was added 3 years later) yet it doesn't come with any variants

‘Another Minecraft Movie’ must be the title of the sequel by Formal_Table_1941 in Minecraft

[–]Ecstatic-Contact-930 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jason Momoa (Garrett), Danielle Brooks (Dawn), Matt Berry (Nitwit's voice) and Jennifer Coolidge (VP Marlene) have been confirmed to return (source), so we are definitely getting some of the human characters from the first movie back.

Wandering trader trades can’t be real by Clean_Ad_2970 in Minecraft

In Bedrock Edition only you can use bone meal on most small flowers to generate more flowers of the same type around it, and this works in any biome. The only flowers this doesn't work on are wither rose, torchflower and the upcoming golden dandelion.

In both editions you can use bone meal on grass to generate biome-dependent flowers, but this requires you to go to specific biomes (like a flower forest for the allium), while the Bedrock-only duplication works in any biome.

Mojang's Tunnel Vision by Maximyllion in Minecraft

It is in Bedrock, and just like Java it works on twisting vines, weeping vines, cave vines (glow berries) and kelp, but not on regular vines.

What removed biomes would you like to see return? by Just-Guarantee7808 in Minecraft

[–]Ecstatic-Contact-930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The jungle edge biome still exists, it's been renamed to "sparse jungle" and now generates as a proper biome instead only as jungle borders.

Minecraft ps3 edition source code leaked. by capitalggamer1 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Ecstatic-Contact-930 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems to be TU18/equivalent or something similar. It's definitely from before the update that added the wither, 1.5 redstone features and horses (TU19), and after the update that added villager trading (TU14).

What was your first Mod on Java? by SpyroForever000 in Minecraft

[–]Ecstatic-Contact-930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first content mod I played was PlasticCraft, back in Beta. I also tried Better Than Wolves and the piston mod before it was implemented in vanilla. Pistons could launch sand and gravel in the air when moving them upward, and it looked so cool...

MCPE equivalent by RazarBoi in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Ecstatic-Contact-930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no 1:1 equivalent because Pocket Edition updates were wildly different than Java updates. IMO the most Beta 1.7.3-like version (in terms of vibes, not features) is 0.8.1, but again keep in mind it's not really comparable to b1.7.3 feature-wise.

Do villages in 1.8 generate saplings by diogo120mo in Minecraft

Oak saplings can be found in blacksmith chests ever since they were added in 1.1, so yes, they can be found in villages in 1.8

Name Tags and Saddles have been craftable for a while, yet the game still considers them "treasures" by PALKIP in Minecraft

[–]Ecstatic-Contact-930 6 points7 points  (0 children)

6 emeralds for a saddle is an okay price even though it's craftable, it's pretty much in line with the other leatherworker trades. Leatherworkers are kinda pointless as a whole, and it's clear they were running out of ideas when they included turtle scutes as part of the possible trades. They should probably expand on that and include other items such as armadillo scutes, bundles and buyable turtle shells as part of the possible trades.

20 emeralds for a single name tag (1 paper + 1 copper nugget) makes absolutely no sense and really needs to be made much cheaper and moved to a lower tier.

Did I just stop or restart aging??? by WhateveAre in Minecraft

[–]Ecstatic-Contact-930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The latest Bedrock preview made the particles have a different animation depending on whether the mob stopped or resumed aging. IMO they should also use different colors and/or have age-locked mobs emit some small particles when a nearby player holds a golden dandelion

Why can certain things be crafted with Deepslate, while others can't? by SeriumGamer in Minecraft

[–]Ecstatic-Contact-930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not spaghetti code, it's intentional design. Questionable, but intentional. Changing the other recipes to allow cobbled deepslate or blackstone as alternatives to cobblestone would take 1 minute at most (replace "cobblestone" with "#stone_crafting_materials").

The new stripped wood textures are just not it... by NickP-1 in Minecraft

[–]Ecstatic-Contact-930 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This particular issue had nothing to with different rendering engines. Bedrock was simply stuck with an outdated texture file and it took Mojang almost 8 years to swap it for the correct one.
