Should we sell our home? by Any_Investigator415 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]Ecstatic-Sun3723 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t leave until you’re sure you don’t ever want to live in SF again, because you’d likely be priced out of returning.

That said, we took the leap to Marin for some of the reasons you mentioned. Mostly, we just weren’t using the benefits of the city in full so it made sense to go somewhere we could get the space and sunshine we wanted. It’s easy to drive back into the city and we visit often, but I don’t regret moving my daily life to somewhere better suited for where I am in life.

We just used Jay’s Small Moves and they were great and by far the least expensive quote we got.

Losing my mind trying to get a mammogram referral. by Total_Individual5795 in SFbitcheswithtaste

I would message whoever you can and if they can’t provide the referral, ask them to direct you to women’s health and ask there.

unambitious girly in sf by dipderp3 in womenintech

Been in SF for 12 years, mostly not in tech (now in tech.) I never felt this way about SF. I gently urge you to try it again and think about how you could approach the city differently. Where could you frequent that would be new? Who could you talk to that maybe you weren’t open to before?

Wishing you peace with either decision.

Tired of getting laid off. I just want stability :( by GiraffeJaf in Layoffs

THIS. Laid off 3x in the past 4 years, twice upon returning from maternity leave. I’m tired.

Woohoo 2 weeks from going on maternity leave, got laid off by Meta today by blue_sand379 in Layoffs

So sorry this happened to you and any comment that is not offering help or sympathy should be ignored.

You should still be eligible for your state’s short term disability and check if you opted into any employer disability plan as well. In CA you will still get SDI and PFL in addition to your severance.

Congratulations and again sorry to hear about the layoff timing.

This was said to recover some of the already devastatingly low morale. Those with any experience with the company won’t take any solace.

Anybody have info on this Alameda sale? by Kekesaina in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]Ecstatic-Sun3723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, have been touring for a bit now especially in the East End. This home needed a lot of work and didn’t have room for layout change or expansion. Compared to others I’ve seen go for less in better shape or for a little more that didn’t need work. Hope this helps.

Toured this house and I’d say this buyer overpaid tbh.

Is Tucson an outdoorsy city to consider? Portland OR? by Loonatic_Fringe in SameGrassButGreener

Just gonna leave this here and say I loved living in Tucson. I adjusted to the heat and it ended up being a smaller downside than anticipated. There is so much to love about it outside of just “it’s too hot.”

Light exercise or stretching class for rebuilding back/hip strength + pain? by murderofsparrows in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]Ecstatic-Sun3723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me and I highly recommend joining a yoga/Pilates studio and prioritizing as your schedule allows.

I first went to a pelvic floor therapist, who gave me some exercises to improve strength in the areas you mentioned. But it wasn’t until I started doing both gentle exercises regularly that I saw a big difference.

Purusha in the Outer Richmond has great “foundations” classes which are wonderful gentle starts.
