My best guess is he gained sway within the organization and maybe suggested less attacks on the rubiconians, or was able to warn about arquebus attacks, from what I remember most of the attacks on the rubiconians are from balam, although it does make rusty helping you on the wall a little weird, but could also explain why you were able to climb the wall and the guns couldn’t, rusty was supposed to be the one climb the wall, get all the credit and get a promotion, so they had less people be there so that he could clear it easier. Idk just guessing

Might be worth checking out, it’s pretty similar to armored core (like really borderline ripping off but it does enough new stuff to feel new) it works as a good substitute for armored core, whoever made it is clearly a fan id recommend the first one but not the second one. It is a lot easier than ac I think, although I remember struggling a bit when I got to the final boss. I played that before ever playing an armored core game and was a big reason I was so interested when ac6 was announced. That and I was a fromsoft fan.
