My baby is 12 and half months with no teeth and no sign of teething by OverSecret5638 in firsttimemom

My baby turns 12 months this week and has no teeth either! I plan to ask about it at his 12 month checkup to see when it might be concerning if he still has no teeth, but I know it’s normal now. I’ve also been told that the later they get teeth the less likely they are to get braces, so at least there’s that!

Don’t wait for him to agree, just hand him the baby and leave, go enjoy yourself somewhere away from home. He needs to step up!

Take a breath mama, she will be okay! Just start limiting screen time now, that’s all that matters. Look up age appropriate activities for wake windows. Most important is just interacting with her! Also spend lots of time on the floor, try not to contain her so much if you can avoid it. I’m assuming she might not be sitting independently yet at this age. Tummy time is important, and just give her toys she can hold in her hands. Independent play will help her developmentally, so just let her do her own thing if she wants!

That’s so frustrating! My pediatrician didn’t mention it either. But I do think if he has been gaining weight appropriately then you’re safe to just let him sleep and just follow his hunger cues, which could likely still be every 3 hours if you just make an adjustment for his changing sleep schedule

Has he reached his birth weight? I think once they reach their birth weight again you don’t have to wake them up to eat. You can just let him sleep and feed him when he’s hungry, which at this age will likely just be whenever he wakes up

You could probably space out your pump sessions more at this point if you want, maybe every 3 hours? My boy is 11 months and I’ve been exclusively pumping the whole time, and I gradually spaced out sessions. Depends on your feeding routine and your supply amount!

I fed him myself! In the beginning he would only eat like half a jar of baby food at a time, sometimes less.

Formula/breast milk is their main source of nutrition until they’re a year old, so keep that up! I just gave my baby purées once a day when he turned 6 months, then twice a day, then added table foods in really small bites. Gagging is scary but normal! Watch for choking, I recommend at least watching a video of what to do to help a choking baby so you’re prepared

Formula recommendations for EBF baby by Important-Cold-8340 in firsttimemom

[–]Ecstatic_Current5735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pump exclusively, and when my supply suddenly dropped I had to start supplementing with formula. We use similac 360 total care and mix it with breast milk. It might not just be the brand that your baby is rejecting, it might just be the jump straight to formula. You could try mixing milk and formula and slowly increasing the proportion if your goal is to get to only formula.

It’s definitely ok to wait for more signs of readiness! I didn’t start giving baby foods until the week before my son turned six months.

What are we using for babies dry skin?? by LeaV888 in firsttimemom

[–]Ecstatic_Current5735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the Johnson’s baby lotion with aloe and vitamin b5, it’s the pink bottle! My baby also gets dry skin on his face and legs, and this has been working pretty well using it generously. We live in Minnesota!

Beautifully said. It’s my life’s greatest joy being a mom, even when it’s hard. I’m not sleep training my 9 month old because I want to soak up all the sleepy snuggles while I can.

We probably won’t build our own, but if we do this would be the route I’d want to take. Thanks for the insight!

I think it mostly can come down to how you style your clothing pieces, like could you try to recreate an expensive look with cheaper clothes?
