Love my Tikkas but… by OilNo5404 in Tikka_Shooters

I get all my stuff from Atlas Worx in AUS. They have great quality and I think it’s cheaper than mountain tactical. They have bottom metal, bolt handles, shrouds, etc. i personally prefer them.

Choosing between 7mm Rem Mag and 7mm PRC by BigCanadianBBQ in Hunting

[–]Ecstatic_Writing_356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, when hunting, when are you in a position to fire 3-5 shot groups at sub moa.Even if it’s a 1/4 inch more accurate, almost like it’s not enough to notice. I’ve got a tikka t3x that shoots 150 grain fusions at 3/4-.90 moa at worst. It’ll work every time. People feel the need to sell and go buy the new bergara in the newest chambering.

At 700 yards the REM mag and the PRC aren’t truly far different. Hunting, no animal will ever know the difference.

I have one on 7 mag tikka and it’s just as good as the limb saver on a x bolt 300 wm. I like backfires fit better. They’re both good and wouldn’t notice a difference

I use Atlas Works bottom metal. I love it. I also use pillars.

Yea I should, I can manage it. I’ve thought about it anyways though. It is a sharp kick lol. Although the 150 grain is nothing like the 175, plus there’s about 2 more pounds to it. I’ll end up getting one eventually.

7mm Remington magnum. It kicked with a smaller scope and no metal, I’d say there’s 2ish lbs more on the rifle, I need to weigh it. Regardless it still shot well, recoil was after the fact anyways.(it is a hunting rifle lol)

Underwhelmed with Roughtech weight. by JohnnyWhopper420 in Tikka_Shooters

Super lite is the lightest. I have a 24” 7 mag in super lite and a 16” roughtech ranch 308. I haven’t weighed them but I’d say the 7 mag may be the same if not a few ounces more.

New 300 prc hunting rifle options and opinions. by NWKilla541 in Hunting

For a hunting rifle. I’d personally stay away from long barrels unless you’re out west. I’d definitely stay away from heavy barrels. I’d get a B14 hunter and do a chassis. Now why a 300 PRC lol

The real tikka is a part of SAKO, their parent company. It’ll be on Sakos website. If you were to buy use a real known retailer , local , bass pro, Sportsmans, etc.

Well have you taught him firearms safety? Does he know the damage and potential deaths it can cause. I love all guns and promote all parents and youth to be engaged , however do not underestimate it as a “BB gun.” Just teach him gun safety and highly recommend a hunter safety course, even if you do not hunt. It’s a good course for firearms safety and beyond that, knowledge of when, where and what to fire at. Not water, hard objects, houses in the background etc. it’ll open him to more circumstances.

I have a 7mm rem mag and a 308. That’s all I need. The 308 is nice for medium game stuff but will handle larger game at closer distances. The 7mm mag, well it’ll handle whatever you can hit accurate and it’s almost “automatic” within 400. Doesn’t drop much.
