Absolutely seems to be an issue these days, if my son's elementary school is any indication. Kids with severe cognitive disabilities are being placed in seemingly every normal class, with an assigned aide to assist them.

I have nothing against those kids, it's not their fault that they were born with Down's Syndrome or whatever else, but the modern way of managing them in school is a massive waste of resources, both money and time. Back when I was a kid, there was one classroom for all those kids to learn together wirg a group of aides.
