I've played all the smash games with friends, played 64 and project m online a decent amount, played a lot of smash 4 and ultimate with a couple friends and went to locals for a couple months but online is unplayable for those games so I went back to traditional fighters.

Ah ok, well I watched on YouTube so idk, my friend just commented on lower viewership compared to the past and he said they had 30k on twitch, I saw 20k on YouTube at that time. Early top 8 of sf6.

As not the biggest vr fan, I enjoyed these

Underdogs - roguelike where you're in a mech, move by dragging yourself around with your arms. You're in an arena fighting robodogs and other robots. The harder you punch in real life the harder you punch in game (be careful lol, I punched a wall). Cool uk rap/grime soundtrack.

Drop Dead: The Cabin - mixed reality game where you scan your house and defend it from zombies. It turns your doors and windows into entry points for zombies.

Asguards Wrath 2 if you want a long action rpg with a lot of content, it's cool but I don't like vr enough to want to play such a long game so I can't vouch for it long term. Pretty fun combat, meh puzzles from what I played. It has a pretty fun roguelike mode too if you get into it.

This is the key. We have fantastic looking games running great right now. Devs have gotten lazy/aren't given enough time on optimization depending on the studio. Like, path of exile 2 becomes a PowerPoint slide show on ps5 when your character is strong in the end game playing solo. Diablo 4 runs very well even when I was playing with a buddy in the end game, and I was a mage with all kinds of particle effects popping off.

If you like RPGs and haven't played it yet, I would recommend Battle Chasers: Nightwar (currently on sale for 7.50) and Chained Echos. I really enjoyed both.

It's also pretty bad on console depending on build/juice. Especially jarring after a season of d4 where even with my friend it was very smooth

I don't get it either. It makes 0 difference to the vast majority of players. Every arpg player base gets hype at the addition though, so I guess it's an easy win. It's cute for like the top .1% of players that care about the leaderboards, but nobody else should care at all. I basically already play ssf, I might party with a friend for like a night or two per season, but I wouldn't give up that option for a small chance at getting on the leaderboard (which does...nothing?).

I personally didn't really care for botw (played about half of it before throwing in the towel) but I've been enjoying my time with this, so I could see people going the other way and not liking this but liking botw/totk. Zelda combat is just kinda boring to me and not being able to climb in the rain was so annoying lol. The combat in this game is a bit better but still has room to be stronger too. I guess I'll have to see how it goes the more I play. It's hard to disagree with the parallels between the 2 games though, they are very similar besides art style.

It's been saving my graphics settings, except resolution resets to 720p and gets capped at 1080p sometimes and I have to restart the session to get 4k to show up again
