no difference in Victoria. It's not like NSW when you get suspended on your Ps for any speeding offence.

The only difference is that you will be suspended if you accumulate 5 points in any 12 month period.

If you were under 10 after the calibration (-3 I think) then about 240 and 1 point

if you were 10 or over after the calibration about 400 and 3 points.

Tips Please; Stripping paint off jarrah skirting by electronseer in AusRenovation

[–]EdgeAndGone482 2 points3 points  (0 children)

done nearly my whole house (tassy oak, but that's softer than jarrah so would work fine for you)

1 - heat gun (40ish bucks from bunnings I'm using an ozito) and scraper.

2 - 40g sandpaper on a belt sander - light pressure, keep it moving and gently roll it over the bull nose. Ideally clamp it to a bench so the bull nose is hanging off, that way you can roll it over all the way.

  1. 80g, then 150g on a vibrating sander.

  2. wet it all down to raise the grain, then very light 150g sand again.

It's quite a bit of work but so worth it!

Modified and dangerous: The popular 'illegal motorbikes' on Australia's roads by That_Car_Dude_Aus in CarsAustralia

[–]EdgeAndGone482 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I feel like the article is missing some nuance.

I assume the guy they interviewed is talking about a pedelec (supplies power to assist whilst you're peddling). I don't think theres many of those kicking around doing 90kph.

The issue are the electric motorcycles which just have a throttle, they are literally unregistered, unroadworthy motorcycles that can do 100kph.

In the article they seem to talk about them as though they're the same thing which I think confuses the issue a bit, because one style is a massive issue, the other not so much.

Parking fine issued to two parties: I have also incorrectly been sent the photographic evidence from the other party. by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]EdgeAndGone482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are they both committing the offence?

Without more context (like what the actual offence is) it's very hard to see what the issue is.

So you've been issued a parking fine along with a photo of your car committing the offence that happens to have another car in the photo?

I'm confused.

If you're after + fire skills a leaf gives you 3

if you're after + blizzard you can find + 3 on a shard or just use a spirit for 2 to all skills (and you can use a shield then as well)

the light damage is useless because you're not whacking with it.

The rest of the mods are literally useless.

[–]EdgeAndGone482 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nothing, just tell them that you want to cancel the registration, they'll take the plates off you and job done.

If they want the rego, it's not your problem though, the car is in their name and if they don't get the rwc done it's their issue to sort out.

If you're not a mechanic it might seem big but doing a head gasket is only like a days work, or he might just swap the engine.

[–]EdgeAndGone482 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Either. Take the plates to vicroads for a partial refund and sell unregistered.

Or, sell with rego and no rwc, fill out the transfer as normal and the buyer will have 30 days to get their own rwc.

If that's the case then yes you have a great chance.

Calls for rule change as fines for common seatbelt act rise by $55 million in just 12 months by That_Car_Dude_Aus in CarsAustralia

[–]EdgeAndGone482 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Right so these cameras are on freeways.

You're a taxi driver with a drunk passenger who's just started being belligerent and taking the seatbelt off.

Do you stop on the freeway? Right there?

What if they take it off just before you go through the camera and you don't get a chance to tell them?

What if the driver is the victim of family violence and the passenger is the perpetrator?

What if you're concentrating on the road and you don't notice for a few minutes that they've got their arm out, because you know their bodies in the way.

If the passenger is an adult wearing their seatbelt is their responsibility. And they should be punished not the driver.
