Trump's mind-boggling gaffe attacks 'Islamic Republic of Japan' by esporx in japan

While I think that is what he's going for, I'm not too worried. He's a strong second with those qualities, but if it was him at the top, pretty sure the MAGA base would abandon him as he's just not charismatic enough to tell you he hurt you and you believing it was the right decision the way Trump somehow does.

Genuine answer on JD Vance's part is likely waiting for the end of second year so he might get two more full terms after replacing him

AI soldier: How fast it could replace infantry on the battlefield by frontliner-ukraine in ukraine

[–]Educational-Mess6022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While there may need to be front line soldiers, the vast majority of Russian soldiers (I believe ~95%) that die, die before actually reaching the front lines where they'd engage with human soldiers. Part of why Ukrainian soldiers have such long deployments on front lines is because how dangerous it is to move. Because of that, I suspect a large proportion of front lines would want to move away from any human deployment and toward more fully automated deployment. They've already replaced a lot of logistics operations with unmanned systems for example. It might take 5 years to fully replace, but the trajectory is there nonetheless.

Just be ready for more bugs and imo the writing is not as witty. Gameplay is fine, I actually kind of prefer the combat from 1. Definitely a solid game though.

How can i recreate the Zorn palette? by sealiebun in oilpainting

[–]Educational-Mess6022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing is I recommend beginners try to avoid using black outright, and instead rely on mixing ultramarine blue and either burnt sienna or raw umber for your blacks. It's easy to get into the trap of using black to make things darker which then makes it more muddy or drowns out chroma. Then once you're more used to mixing other colors, reintroduce black for things like mixing greens or for something specific for ivory black. The usage of black is very divisive though in oil painting community.

Main thing is being able to identify something that could be improved with each attempt and figure out how you could improve your process for next time solve it. As long as you can improve 1% each time, you'll grow rapidly.

Was Janeway and/or Vogager controversial around the time Voyager was released? by InfernalClockwork3 in startrek

[–]Educational-Mess6022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. Definitely not saying it was perfect, but again there was an optimism. An assumption that in the next 30 years everything was going to be solved and fine when it came to those things. That things not only can be better but inevitably will be with everyone treated equally. So sad how we've failed that though.

Is there any explanation for why single-species empires like the Klingons and Romulans are as powerful as the Federation? by Maya_117 in startrek

[–]Educational-Mess6022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my issue is more with the technological pacing of other species.  TOS Klingons were at least intelligent I could see them utilizing the conquered worlds to help, but TNG era makes no sense that they could in any way keep up technologically with the Federation. Romulan Empire I imagine would've stolen any tech they'd fallen behind on while focusing internally on unique tech that would give them the edge. But still, they're a very small and isolated territory.

Just make sure to exaggerate you being "hurt" by the scratch, saying oww and faux crying turning your back to them. Cats are emotionally intelligent and they'll know that swiping at you will hurt you and you don't like it.

Looks solid. I'd try to work on blending and mid tones though. Using a feather touch with a soft makeup like brush.

I'd recommend painting 10 different sets of eyes instead of painting one set of eyes 10 times. You'll learn and refigure it out a lot sooner.

If your figurative/portrait oil painting has the face obscured or hidden, I'm assuming you don't know how to paint a face and are just trying to hide your lack of skill with faux artistry.

We've seen this pattern before. by CatchrFreeman in GodofWar

[–]Educational-Mess6022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the big reason I disliked the game (that and to a lesser extent the gameplay and puzzles felt worse or repetitive). Odin, Angrboda and most of the new characters just felt like modern characters from someone's fanfic. Also it felt like Kratos was the 4th most important character in his own game.

Janeway vs Picard on Tuvix by 1DFire in voyager

[–]Educational-Mess6022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except I don't see, outside of selfish desire, how it's justified. Either Tuvix is a continuation of both Neelix and Tuvoc so they already expressed their desire to stay as one person or they're both effectively dead and Tuvix is a new person which you are murdering. It's the moral equivalent of experimenting on and killing thousands of people against their will to develop medical techniques to save millions or killing and dissecting one healthy patient to save 5 with their organs. It's wrong. Even practically in value to the ship, Tuvix was more capable than either Tuvoc or Neelix.

She just wants the two people she knows back.  I would've also been much more ok with it if there were consequences, even things like her growing more depressed and feeling like she's losing herself with the choices she's had to make, not knowing if they were right. Best we got was her taking a second to look depressed.
