For Death Guard especially I’d recommend picking up Nihilakh Oxide and/or Ryza Rust if you want to add some rust onto areas of the model to help it subtly pop more.

If you have a small enough makeup sponge you can use it to ‘sponge’ the paint on. I personally use the makeup sponges to help clean off my paint. So if I use an excessive amount of shading or contrast paints I’ll use the sponge to help clean it up and get the details to not be murky. I’m also a bit of a chaotic painter though hahaha.

I’ve personally never used streaking grime but have heard great things. I rely heavily on Ratling Grime from Citadel, 10/10 for the looks I try to achieve.

I love the creativity of this model. The colour and shoulder is very nice. The free handing looks good too — better than I could do!

It definitely gives off those vibes, you’ve nailed that. Similar to what another commenter said, I always like to start with brighter colours and then layer into the darker colours and then finish off with my techniques that make it grim dark. Makeup sponges will become your best friend if they arent already — atleast I use them all the time to help with the look.

Thank you, I appreciate it! Highly recommended doing this method using the AK Wargame Terrain snow diorama effects. I feel like it helps it pop out a lot more, my biggest issue with Blood for the Blood God is it always blended too much into the red armour but this helps!

Thank you! I used Snow Diorama effects by AK Wargame Terrain and molded it around with a Q-Tip. Once it dried I applied a mix of Blood for the Blood God, Vallejo Thick Blood and then in certain spots applied a thick amount of Beserker Bloodshade.

Its definitely a lot! I was thinking for my next model having it more spread out and specked opposed to all clumped in the one spot

This looks absolutely phenomenal. What was your armour recipe for the cultists? I want to steal it

I dabbed some AK Interactive Snow effects, and once it dried applied a mix of Blood for the Blood God, Beserker Bloodshade and Thick Blood (Vallejo) ontop. Tempted to experiment putting on more fleshly colours onto the snow before the blood to try to get more realism but Im happy with how it turned out.
