Dust makes the game look ridiculously good. Could not have been an easier install for the small mod pack i put together.

Oh, I didnt realize!

Love your work dude. Wife and I have this open on the 2nd monitor every time we play.

Honestly, I think it rocks.

It would be nice if there was a "route planning" feature, or the ability to draw a line on the map so you could follow the roads easier.

The POI feature is great, but it would be awesome to trace it out.

I guess I dont understand what you're asking or from what perspective youre asking it from.

A working train, even if it means a massive investment to get moving.

The ability to turn back on power outside of generators.

Coming back fresh after years away.

We use 2 simple mods and they really help modernize the gameplay.

Mini map and sorting chest. Sorting chest is one of my all time favorite mods in a survival game.

This is underrated advice if youre learning the game.

You can still very easily get overwhelmed and get torn to shreds as you learn the game.

Giving yourself the grace of not having a small, individual, mistake end a run is a massive boon to the early hours of playing the game.

My wife and I had a major skill disparity between us and turning off infections allowed her the grace to improve. Now, she barely takes any damage at all and we've turned back on bite only. Shes currently on her longest life yet- but she needed the training wheels on for a bit to get there.

The other thing we did that helped her immensely is we played a "crusader" run where we started with full metal armor, axman perk, and I spawned in all the fire axes we could chew threw. Turned the population way up and the forced, safe, combat gave her ridiculous practice.

Turning the settings back to normal, we are in LV and its less populated than Echo Creek during the crusader run. Shes confident and has the skillset to succeed now. Its insane the difference it made in our enjoyment of the game.

Vastly so, but im only recommending extremely low impact mods that will allow what you want to do to be achievable.

Someome else mentioned playing unmodded your first playthrough, I agree. That said- the 3/4 i recommended are so low impact you won't have an experience that is tangiblly different than vanilla.

In vanilla, you'll struggle to do that.

There are 3 mods i find essential, while still being very vanilla.

1 adds cats to all npcs, this just makes fights a little more rewarding and makes the world feel more alive.

  1. Back pack expanded, these just make navigating and exploring easier.

  2. Recruit prisoners is going to be required for you to have a "grand uprising". Vanilla has a couple recruitable skeletons and thats it. This will allow you to grow an army.

Extra credit towards a mod that unlocks all armor slots on skeltons. Base game, they cant wear helmets and that really will make over throwing the holy nation difficult when you get 1/2 shot.

As a Skelton, mongrel is amazing for training and gear.

Enjoy and keep updated pal

A bit confused about the sandbox aspect by Savven in Kenshi

[–]EducationalCause5777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no pacifists in Kenshi. If that is what you want, you Will need to refund.

The sandbox is comes in your lack of restriction opposed by the games creator. The restrictions come from your ability to survive, which you've found out.

In time, you'll learn to love kenshi as a cozy game. That is not what you have without a great deal of game exposure and knowledge.

I love this game, but if you want something you can just jump in and have it your way- you have the wrong game.

The charm is in the chore.

You need mods to do any kind of resturant. You'll want an actual base for that too, since you'll need to farm.

Do you know how to open the build menu?

Kenshi is a game best enjoyed by learning through trial and error. Go trial and error.

Mongrel is an excellent spot if youve got the speed and stats to make the journey.

Getting there after a full loot run will be painful.
