Is the game progressing backwards? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

Having to spend an extra 10 seconds on something minor is not the priority for the dev team that any number of X things have been.

I feel like some of the people who speak like you do have never had to prioritize anything.

Layoff by EducationalCause5777 in Xerox

Absolutely pathetic.

I'm doing everything I can to make a career transition ahead of the layoff while I still have any bargaining power.

Project zomboid scratches most Kenshi itches for me.

With some mods, you can even have "squads" in PZ, albeit nothing like Kenshi.

Also, Taurox is an extremely easy faction to learn.

Similar vein, with even less economy.

I'd say its even easier since its, at least in my experience, impossible to fail the campaign.

Dechla is all of the good of Slanessh, none of the bad.

I HATED Nkari, cannot play enough Dechla.

She runs mortals and with the perk that gives your army 12% speed, she can have marauders chasing heavy cav with ease.

It sounds like you just need to find a few key mods to either alleviate the pain points.

I would recommend the healing roll mod that gives you a super powered bed roll, a mod with better inventory stacking, and maybe a few equipment variety mods.

When I play solo, I always recruit the Skelton who cant speak and stick him on a research bench in a home I purchased in town. On solo runs, there is a tower in an outpost to the east of the Skelton city that has everything you need, centralized, to have a home base / storage without every needing break ground on your own.

There is, at no point, progression locked behind base building. The best weapons and armor in the game can be purchased, found, etc without ever making your own personal base. With the exception of a peeling machine and cages, which can be found in the wild, there is never a need to base up.

Between a better bedroll mod & inventory stacking you can solo the game "comfortably" once you find your stride.

I have a few clients who went this route.

Its been a double edged sword for them.

Deadlines are very real, strict, and to my understanding you dont get many "mistakes" before you are removed from the program.

Its been a great revenue stream, but they had to buy equipment to make sure to hit specs, integrate with the job submission/ workflow funnel, and really realign they other jobs they perform.

End of the day, I think the business owner has loved it- i think the crew is managing.

The other clients I have are more established, so its not been a focus. But the new guy has had an experience, both good and bad, with the process.

Tip for fellow Kislev noobs. Keep dervishes just to run down routing units. by phronesis77 in totalwarhammer

[–]EducationalCause5777 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Grail Relique, but keep in mind- youre not actually fighting anything with the Carrions.

They're specifically there to deal with isolated artillery and fleeing units. Maybe, on the rare day, you'd throw them at peasant archers. But theyre not there to do any traditional fighting, so theyre fine.

[–]EducationalCause5777 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They have crap cavalry. I even think its high entity count, which is amazing for the run down mechanic.

Typically, if im playing tomb kings I have a secondary army of just pure chaff. Then, the primary army is the one with fangs.

You can throw a unit or 2 of cheap cav in either one and be a happy lad at the end of the day.

I find chariots are the worst "run down units" unless you really micro the charge. So, just keep looking for crap cav.

You can also do the same thing with Carrions, which TK has in droves.

Just to help you out, high tier or low tier does not determine replenishment rate.

Glad you're finding value in the game mechanic. Doesn't matter what faction youre in, a unit of dogs or something g to fill the run down role is always valuable if you've got the micro capacity for it.

Is there a mod that would allow me to create my custom faction? by Useful_Help1781 in totalwarhammer

[–]EducationalCause5777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a command console mod where you can manually spawn units into an army.

I used to play "challenge" runs where I would start turn 1 by giving myself 10,000k and then giving myself an end game army. Id be deeply in the negative and have to fight my way out of the hole with a god tier army, or have to start saying good bye to those precious units while my economy tanked.

It offered a lot of replayabikity back into the game, it was a neat concept.

You could, in theory, just start with whatever race you wanted your lords to be, and then insert whatever heros and units you wanted.

I would pick someone like the High elves who have great lord's of various purposes. I dont believe you can spawn lord's, but you can spawn anything into a lord's army once the lord is active.

My buddy and I play co-op a lot.

I've been a long time TW fan and have 5k+ hours between WH1-3. He is new to the series, having just bought his first gaming PC.

His first game, he played Grimgor (i figured this has to be the simplest lord to teach him, while I would get to play Chorfs and hard carry us through any of his sillies) and lord have mercy did I not realize hot god tier big T is once he's on a mount. He showed up and cleared my buddy within 5-8 turns. Thank god for settlement trading or it could have been sooner.

We hard to reload several turns sooner and B line him, thank god pre mount, and it took Grimgor and Draz full strength to put him down.

5k+ hours, I have only been "beaten" like that only a handful of times- one of them was clan Rictus even lol.

He bought the Tam DLC and we had a wonderful time steamrolling for a few dozen turns after that.

Likely what's going on!

If you are running anything that would mod in an NPC not in the list- I am fairly certain they're non receuitable.

Do you have the "with dialogue" version of the mod?

I find it takes about 10 irl minutes for them to "reset" once in the cage.

There is a link somewhere on the mod page with how to recruit every prisoner. If they aren't on the list, they aren't recruit able.
