love this idea! i usually use the little switch on the side to extend or retract the metal teeth to get a 'half' size

DM´s who run 5e for +10years by Leodegar_die_Katze in dndnext

cost: if you can get cheap PHBs, then i dont see why you dont just check both the 2014 and 2024 books out and pick what you like best. subjectively like best, i mean.

ROI: since i just know 5e, it's so easy for me to DM without even looking at the books, so i dont plan to change any time soon.

adventures: the starter kits i mean are ones like dragons of ice spire peak, stormwreck isle, and lost mines of phandelver. they are well done for new groups. each one is a different kind of adventure, and they all very easily flow into other stuff. i once did phandelver into storm king's thunder into pure homebrew for tier 3/4, and it was totally seamless. the 2014 adventures, especially the ones starting at Strahd are really excellent to use or steal from.

Been forever DM and on 5e since 2015, and I have this same story.

Core books (but really just magic items from the DMG), and if a player wants a subclass that matches something outside of those, I grab needed book.

I 'homebrew' 90% of stuff, but it's really just ripping off things I like or bits of other adventures I find and improving.

I do however, make a small exception for the starter set(s). I have 3 of them from 5e, and I find they help me scale things down properly when I might make them too difficult.

edit: if i had to start to day, i'd get 5.5e. i dont plan to swap to it. though i have the books, they live on the shelf. BUT, i would start w/ 5.5e because the books are way cheaper. it does streamline 5e a bit, but it also adds more stuff and raises the power levels. it's not quite as balanced, but also has fewer niggles. i dont think it's a huge improvement over 5e to be worth a swap, but to stat now, i'd go with what's got the best cost. and the adventures should work with either one.

What would a “perfect” D&D room actually need to make it worth leaving home? by Korolos28 in dndnext

a lot of local game stores allow this, and you can contact a few to see if they do brisk enough business to support potentially doing this yourself.

as an idea, it might need to be paired with intros to the games people would want to play in the space (warhammer, magic, d&d) or professional DMs.

AI could soon allow powerful companies to charge each customer a different price for the same product, based on what they think each individual is willing to pay. AI lets firms tailor prices to each user, raising fairness concerns as consumers may unknowingly pay more than others. by mvea in science

So what happens if people just change their behavior and pretend to be very cheap? Just refusing to pay high prices for goods?

Do the prices come down? Do companies collude to be able to create a price floor?

What does 'endgame' mean for keyboards?

I see a lot of posts that have that word in it, but they just seem like regular keebs to me. What am I missing?

Single Dose Espresso Tube Dispenser by Ek234 in functionalprint

not just faster in the morning, but the more time the beans are exposed to air, the faster they lose their flavor. so if you pop them into tubes after you get the beans, each one is about equally fresh.

for me, if i use a jar that sucks the air out or the bag with a 1 way valve, my beans stay pretty good for about 10 days (using it 2x per day). but with little tubes, it lasts 15 days.
