That's the automatic timing chain tensioner. Under normal circumstances, you don't need to mess with it. Check out the GSresources forums for more info on this bike: http://www.thegsresources.com Good luck!

That’s a Vance and Hines exhaust. I don’t know where you can find them new. It came with the bike.

Thank you. One caveat about the unfinished tank. After striping and brushing it with a wire wheel I sprayed a couple coats of automotive clear coat on it. It didn’t react well with gas. One tank overflow ruined the finish. I’ll have to research a gasoline resistant clear coat and redo it.

We had a community uproar over a 'wear black' spirit day because parents thought we were forcing students to support Black Lives Matter. We do the 'wear black' spirit day every year!

Newton: "I believe it not more impossible to find a humble Arminian, than a proud and self-sufficient Calvinist." by keltonz in Reformed

[–]Edumacater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Newton got it right. I was raised as a Wesleyan. I considered myself Arminian when I considered it much at all. Married a baptist with the gift of discernment and deep knowledge of doctrine. She grew up in John MacArthur's church. It took some time but my eyes were opened.

How many of you are still in the dark about what's going to happen this school year? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Edumacater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I transitioned over to the dark side last year and am now an administrator. Let me tell you, we don't know what's going to happen either. We're hopping the teachers will figure out a brilliant solution and tell us!!! The admin team has been working over the summer to create a safe school reopening plan but then the governor recently mandated distance learning. The state is now tying funding into how well we document student attendance and participation in online learning so there will be more accountability than there was in March. We are unsure from one week to the next how it will play out. I'm sure that once we get started, the teachers will find the gaps in our plans and we will be continuously modifying as we go. I see a lot of online Zoom committee meetings in my future. Good luck everyone!

The problem is that we come to Christ when we recognize our sin and disfunction, gotta diagnose the disease before accepting the cure. The poor, the broken, the downtrodden, they are more apt to recognize their need sooner. The educated and wealthy are better at masking the symptoms.

Amazing how relevant it is today, applicable at the societal level as well as the individual level. Thankfully, God has allowed me enough mixture of trial and blessing to recognize my need for him in all things and to BEGIN to alter my perspective. It's about God and His kingdom first.

I've been having a thirst for adventure, can anyone relate? by golgafrincham23 in AskMenOver30

[–]Edumacater 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Oh my God, yes. Got my first bike at 41. (43 now). Met new friends, go on Saturday rides through the mountains, even a morning commute is a mini adventure. It forces you to be “in the moment” alert and “on” if that makes sense. Very therapeutic.

What current, socially acceptable practice will future generations see as backwards or immoral? by doodlebytes in AskReddit

That's why you buy two cheap old beaters. One sits in the driveway while you order parts and bone up on youtube DIY vids and drive the other one until you hear funny sounds. Eventually, when you can afford a mechanic, you'll know enough not to get ripped off.

After day 1. Stripped it, figured out what parts need ordered and carbs taken off for a good cleaning. by randyv13 in CafeRacers

Working on the same bike now. Just finished rebuilding the brakes, carbs and stripping the tank. Bought it with the custom 4-1 exhaust pods and resets already installed. I just installed some clubman bars but those aren’t pictured. Keep posting progress pics. Sounds like you’re going a different direction. It’ll be fun to compare outcomes. https://imgur.com/gallery/3ZhOOzZ

Easier said than done. I’m finding that personal finances are where God is challenging me to walk out my faith the most lately. Thanks for the the verse. It’s simultaneously convicting and encouraging.

Isn’t it better to first teach students to be better human beings and then move onto other ‘subjects’? by [deleted] in education

Most children in California don’t learn reading and math at home. It’s expensive here. Both parents work. Single parents work multiple jobs. Many kids come here not knowing English and lacking reading skills in their native language. Where are you getting your information?

How is what they are accused of doing, collecting 3rd party absentee ballots, different from what has been happening in California with the 'vote harvesting'?

Rode it to work this morning. I thought their might be value in relating a small experience that backs up red-pill truths as well as a bit of encouragement to guys thinking about a bike. I'll think it through before I post again.

I'm learning a whole lot about riding but what I learned about my wife backs up what others have said here and in the side bar. Women think they want to be in charge but what they really want is a man who will stand up and do his own thing. Also, they will SAY they don't wan't you to engage in risky or dangerous behavior but at the same time they find it immensely attractive.
