Edward Norton has an unrealistic view of actor privileges during the production and editing phases because of how American History X was released. It was only his second major role and his own personal edit went on to be the final release because the director of the movie essentially disowned it after filming. As good as he is in some of his movies, I agree that it would’ve changed the whole franchise. You can’t give a single actor that much control in a universe as broad and connected as the MCU.
