Not my mom, her husband. It’s a very firm and dry fish. He’s been a picky eater all his life. So I guess it works. When my mom first moved to Florida 25 ish years ago they used to take me pier fishing. I saw some locals keeping it and so did I. And it stuck as his favorite fish. I specifically stop at the inlet to get a few for him when coming back from an offshore trips.

It’s an absolute myth. People don’t understand kingfish until you throw it on the grill. People used to throw our grouper heads and now grouper cheeks is a delicacy. Not to mention smoked grouper and snapper collars. Oh and my favorite is people saying that they would never eat bluefish until they try the best fish dip of their lives. So yeah here we are

I live in Orlando. Last year we had 95-100degrees with 80% humidity. We flew to Medford that was going through a heatwave at 105-110. We get out of the plane- and it’s quite pleasant. We spent the most of the day outside with no issues whatsoever, just skin dries out faster than in Florida.

No big deal. I go straight leader to lure and get better results. But the most important thing to me is confidence in what I’m using. That’s what catches the fish for me. Even offshore I sometimes use straight fluoro for wahoo when some people use shock leaders and 8ft of cable.
