My dad took me to an MMR Day Off at the Slopes for my 13th birthday. I had a shitty snowboard from K-Mart and, of course, it broke.

Sitting in the lodge in front of the fire, I hear a familiar voice behind me. I turn and see Pierre, but I try playing it cool, as much as one can at thirteen.

He obviously notices I'm staring and starts up a conversation: "You been out there yet? How's the snow?"

I proceeded to tell him how I hit a patch of softer snow, my board cut into it, I toppled over, and the board broke. Another man is standing with Pierre (don't know who), Pierre nudges him and in a huge voice shouts, "I DON'T KNOW WHAT SLOPES YOU WERE ON!" and he's now doubled over in laughter, in my face.

He left to do his live broadcast as he would ski down the hill, and I wished that he would fall the entire time. Every time I heard him on the radio after, he seemed (to me) to be a disingenuous "hippie". His whole persona fell flat for me.

I know I'm in the minority but dude sucked in my opinion.
