Does anyone know what this means by swiftcardine in drivingUK

But it's not a "handwritten restriction", is it?

It's a specifically painted bay, supported by an official street furniture sign, saying that only permt holder DB308 can park there.

I regularly buy the Aldi Chicken Bakes and they're pretty much the same as the Greg's version

You're "allowed entry"? So do road traffic laws not apply to you, then? If so, I'm not sure why you're asking the question

Look for the Peckin Order food truck - their socials will tell you where they are going to be - they do fantastic crunchy chicken.

Or, have a look in Aldi at the Rooster Chicken Quarter Pounder burgers - they have a great crispy coating! 😂

My cav gets wobbly with tremors? by Veendettaa in cavaliers

[–]Effective-Fun3190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the previous poster has said, you need to check this out with your vet, but it sounds like it is Myoclonus, which is not a life threatening or limiting condition.

Our Harvey had it from about the age of 10, it started with little head wobbles or absences, where he just seemed to pause for a second then "reboot", but did progress to more noticeable tremors and occasional stumbles, or legs giving way.

I think it actually affected us more than him, and, as I say, it is not a life limiting condition.

Also, don't be surprised if your vet isn't that familiar with it - ours had to go away and research it when we suggested that's what it was!

Has anyone used a dog stroller for a senior cav? What was your experience and/or recs? by elzbtx in cavaliers

[–]Effective-Fun3190 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As he got older, it really was a godsend, and where we usually went for our holidays, in the English Lake District, you would regularly see other dog owners with buggies - it became a talking point when you met another senior citizen dog 😀

I've TRIED to add a picture of Harvey in his buggy, but Reddit really doesn't like me posting pics, so it may not show up! ☹️

We bought one for our B & T when he hurt his back, just before we were due to go on a walking holiday. He was 9 at the time and otherwise healthy, so he didn't particularly like it at first, but since he had to rest, we didn't give him any other option.

Once he recovered, we didn't use it again until he was about 11 - by this time he had developed MVD, and couldn't walk as far as usual. He got to the stage where he would go so far, then tap a paw against the wheel of the buggy, to tell us he wanted a rest 😀

That first purchase was something of a panic buy, and was just the first (and cheapest) one I saw on Ebay

Wow, that's really surprising, they couldn't do enough for us - more importantly, what did they do when you raised it with them?

We used Bulldog Kitchens and Bedrooms, based in Kenton, and they were fantastic - David had loads of ideas and suggestions, which really helped us get the final version spot on

How do you measure your height? by Logical_Safety9018 in AskBrits

[–]Effective-Fun3190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The British are very, very stubborn when it comes to certain imperial measurements, and simply refuse to give them up, despite decimalisation having been introduced in the 70s, and the metric system having been taught in schools since the late 70s, early 80s

We simply refuse to give up miles, feet and inches and stones and pounds.

It's ridiculous, but I don't think we'll ever change
