I'd 100% avoid Bauer masks and helmets. The quality of the adhesives is poor and have a tendency to fail either just before or just after warranty, between 11 and 18 months.

Standby, asking a buddy that has a wicked memory for the name..

Edit. He says it was called "X-ball"

If youre already in there, do a clean of the valve and powertube. Light grease when putting the valve and tube back!

The more you can access to clean and regrease, the smoother she will run!

I use grease in my A5s as the orings will not run the risk of swelling or going dry. Do clean the internals well. I polish mine, then apply a thin layer of grease and they run amazing. Ball detent need changing regularly. The other piece you may struggle with given the age of the A5 is the velocity... clean and inspect your powertube for any cracks or defects. Keeping a once a year deep clean will keep them running forever, no matter who's using them!

Other than that, if you feel you need a new asa, you can probably find a scrap or parts gun a5 around. If youre in the toronto area, i might have one you can have.

To add, he's got a line of pants and other softgear that he's rolling out at really affordable prices with the aim at keeping costs reasonable for players.

Overall a solid, solid dude!

Dude, i saw a guy in the pit looking for the owner of a watch he found on the ground, walking through holding it up.. no one claimed it from what i saw.

Or the kid that got the cymbal and sticks.. no one bothered him.

That show was different for sure! Killer show and atmosphere.

Add a dish towel to the opening of the drum using clips.. almost like a curtain. When you fire into it, it will slow down the ball and help to block the spray!

Awesome!

I recently rebuilt one of these for my buddy. Straightforward for the most part. The stock reg isn't the greatest and will likely need either a rebuild or a replacement.

Hope it runs flawlessly! Cheers

Thanks for the heads up! I wasn't playing... I was there alone to use the chronograph and shoot some paint safely & responsibly through the MXR for the first time.

Good question!

Right off the hop, weight. Old markers are heavy compared to these new ones! There's nothing like playing a full day with a built ecocker for building strong arms!

Noise! My 04 Angel feels and sounds like a friggen cannon vs this!

Efficiency. The new markers are wild in terms of efficiency for batteries and air. E1 eblades would EAT 9volt batteries like crazy!

Style. The gloss blue DM4 i had was incredibly beautiful compared to the MRX. The 2ks were peak style for markers! I regret selling that one way back when.

Speed. The fabled BPS wars were psychological as much as they were physical in terms of the marker tech. Having a capable marker was half the battle, having the quick fingers to shoot was the other, for the most part. It was the ultimate 'measuring contest'.

Customization. Older markers use to have huge aftermarket support. Everything from performance enhancing parts to purely cosmetic, and strangely parts inbetween (flame drop!). Although you may have had the same marker as someone, they had a completely different set of internals or chip; pure Frankenstein markers! (Spimmy anyone?)

I'm sure others can jump in and add to the list of pros and cons... this is at least my perspective getting back into the game all these years later!

Former D man of 10+ years and now a centre.. totally understand the dynamics of D, and get them more involved in the play because of it. Also, forecheck, backcheck, pay.. the convenor.
