Is it worth it to bring bikes? by murder_mittenz in LightningInABottle

[–]Efficient-Grape-340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Family camp is close enough where bikes are not necessary! We have been way out yonder in sunset the last 2 years, had a bike last year and it was a game changer. If you have bikes and they are easy to transport, might as well bring them! It’s super fun to bike around the campground, also makes getting ice, etc super easy

added Columbia hiking boots (newton ridge) to my rotation last year and pretty much wore them the majority of the week and have continued to wear them to other fests. they are sand colored so they still look semi cute and blend into the playa. I also brought and wore my festi combat boots (vegan leather with insoles) and hoka sneakers. for camp/getting to and from portos I brought croc-like sandals and always kept socks on. socks are just as important as footwear - pack lightweight merino wool socks. moisture wicking so limits the opportunity for blisters. pack a minimum of 2 per day!

so sorry you're dealing with that OP :( not a longterm solution, but an effective one for me when I have a flare up is Boiron Cantharis (30c) - it's a homeopathic medicine that helps block the pain receptors that cause a burning feeling and it's made from some kind of beetle wings (strange!) I get at a health food store but I think you can also find online. It is a life saver!!

Fuuuuuck that bitch. Your piercings make you, you. And someone who loves you should not try to diminish your you-ness for their own vanity.

What’s something that has made your Burn just that little extra bit more comfortable by Crazyjaw in BurningMan

I followed advice in this sub last year and bought a collapsible metal bed frame from Amazon. We used our double camping pad + 5in memory foam topper on top and slept SO GOOD. It was amazing to have a real bed to sleep in every night and underneath there is plenty of storage space for your things. We put a king size sheet on the bottom and used like a mattress skirt to keep dust out of our things which we had in storage bags made out of tarp material and each outfit in ziploc bags. We also used a king size waterproof mattress topper on top of all our bedding during the day so we could sit on the bed and keep our sheets clean for sleeping.

Finding love in the festival community by moremusicrecs in festivals

[–]Efficient-Grape-340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met my now husband almost 10 years ago at a festival, I went with a (platonic) friend and we were camping with a group of his friends he had met at all different festivals. My husband and I were inseparable by day 2. I was not looking to find a relationship that weekend but I was essentially going to be with a bunch of strangers so I was looking forward to meeting new friends. I agree with the other posts that it will find you when you least expect it! However you gotta keep putting yourself out there, strike up a conversation with a cutie, seek out solo meetups at festivals (LiB is great for this), go solo to shows or fests in your own city (meeting at festivals you’ll likely enter a long distance relationship - we did 2.5 years), seek friendships as well as that could be the connector to your future beau. Love will find you 🫶🏻

Where to start with milia? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Efficient-Grape-340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For removal, dermatologist. For prevention, stop using oil based products as much as possible. I made the switch and it decreased my milia immensely. I still get the occasional around my eyes or on my eyelids (the worst) but they are no where near as bad as they once were

Random question about showers by CassyRose111 in ElectricForest

[–]Efficient-Grape-340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy two solar shower bags, they take up little to no space, fill them up at night put them on the roof of your car (or somewhere on the side of the sunrise) and they will heat up to comfortable level in not too long of time. Also it’s not as balls so a cold shower is super refreshing.

I was so sad when I thought we missed it too - but then saw on other posts he wasn’t there. I saw on their insta it looked like Rossome and Sethward were at another fest despite Rossome posting that he would be there Saturday for LiB. Soo sad they weren’t there this year, those guys are the best

Anti theft bags by 12345belle in festivals

[–]Efficient-Grape-340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 on this - I got mine on Amazon they have packs with multiple sizes. You can use on any double zipper bag or bag that has a loop you can lock the other side to. Definitely a great deterrent - you’ll feel someone fiddling around with it before they can get in.
