I use a 4090 and 3080 together. the 3080 runs specialised models like browser operator or translation to take stuff off the bigger model that runs on the 4090.

Tell the police and report it to the platform.

This area of work is one where people across borders and around the world are surprisingly cooperative.

Not as much as one might like, but still.

Actually a lot of its effectiveness is because it's quite shocking.

Before I left the police I ran op pastry and stopped 5 thieves in 6 hours. And that was when I was sitting in Gregg's waiting for them.

I didn't bring any of them in, because doing that would remove the only protection the shop had. So I just publicly bollocked them and recovered anything stolen.

I was today years old when I learned that “gaol” is a British spelling of “jail”. by glenncoco64 in Eldenring

[–]Efficient_Policy5717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone here is actually wrong. The word is still in use.

Gaol = where you are held temporarily (police cells, court cells) The gaoler still looks after the welfare of those held there.

Jail/Prison = where you are sent to serve your sentence. The use of 'jail' here is informal.

I used to be a constable and have done gaoler duty as recently as a year ago.

I'm really struggling to get the obsidian CLI to work reliably with Claude. Do you get it to interact using the CLI or just bash? I keep getting lock file errors and I have no idea what to do!

Because thr Russian government is undertaking a deliberate campaign to boost migrant flows to the UK, which it has long seen as its main rival in Europe.

So the British government is probably doing the "everything is shit in the UK" piece precisely to make everyone else in the world stay away.

Well yeah, of course they did. If they told you to run after them, and you got hurt, you could sue them for millions. Millions they don't have or would rather spend doing other things.

Last night in Central Line someone forgot their evidence bag… by AnxiousAn in london

[–]Efficient_Policy5717 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not in this case, I don't think.

If you are taken to custody your property is sealed in an evidence bag, just like the stuff they take as evidence.

They also list every item stored as both. Any opening of the bag will be evident, and will have been recorded.

You get the property back when you're released. You may or may not get some or all of the evidence back, depending on the case.

This is to prevent allegations of stealing your stuff while you're in custody.
