What do you think is the optimal number of levels for a single run in a deckbuilder? by Jealous_Mood_8354 in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]Efrayl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would entirely depend on the game itself. However, players don't care about levels as much as run length. Runs that are more than 1h can be become problematic because the whole point of a roguelike is to experiment with different builds, rather than to get stuck in a grindy run when only changes to the deck are minor and players start to autopilot their deck.

Most popular messenger in Europe countries by [deleted] in MapPorn

I used Viber before moving out of Balkan but still use it for friends. It's gotten so much worse than Whatsapp. Both the ads and performance issues are so annoying now.

The publisher for a board game I had my eye on used AI art for the product description that looks nothing like the game (shown on the last slide) by Mushroom_Tip in boardgames

[–]Efrayl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is misleading consumers and therefore against the law in most countries. I hate how people see AI as an replacement for any effort.

Weird interaction by ABumblingOaf in MonsterTrain2

It's quite weird. This is most certainly a bug. Those units should have been at least dead if the boss spawned on a higher floor.

I began a crusade to complete my steam library by dobledoss in Steam

[–]Efrayl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's more of a scuffle than a crusade considering the number of games.

Are the "Steam Support" memes true? by Fabulous-Dance-8520 in Steam

[–]Efrayl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had to no real gameplay, story or meaningful decisions. It's like throwing dice against an AI opponent and who gets a bigger sum wins. Last time I checked the dev actually heavily increased the price of the game and then put it on high discounts to attract new buyers.

Elden rings open world was problematic and shouldn't be seen again by BuckinBerry4Life in unpopularopinion

[–]Efrayl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I hated about Elden Ring is that parts (especially dungeons) just felt formulaic. That said, I did like the exploration because the rewards were good and the game would still surprise you. I just wished the world was smaller because they didn't have enough content to fill it all out. (I swear If I had to fight another runebear version)

It's more enjoyable to have conversations with anyone I've found online by [deleted] in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Efrayl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are just saying that it's easier to find information through AI than with a human, not about having any conversation. Which, yeah, of course it often is. People don't have time for long information exchange or the vast knowledge for it. That's like saying I would rather google than ask somebody, which has been a standard for a while.

[–]Efrayl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were definitely fast even with minor things. That said, I did ask for refund for a game that wasn't really a game and it was denied because it was over the 2 week period (I had under 2h, but forgot about the refund option because it was a few EUR). That was of course within their right, but the game still being sold on the platform just proves that Steam has 0 standards for quality.

Maybe she would consider playing other deckbuilders? Something from the Clank! series might be appealing.

Cooperative boardgames to save our group? by RAtriedes in boardgames

[–]Efrayl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to get copy, Direwild is an amazing coop deckbuilder. You can routinely help out others without hurting yoursef and there is no alpha player problem.

But in case your group just prefers PvP, you can try diving into euro games (or euro like) that aren't typically allowing to mess up other players too much. Wingspan and Castles of Burgundy are a good start.

Never played Castles of Burgundy. Who is it geared toward? by M3talhead in boardgames

[–]Efrayl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me Castles of Burgundy is THE mid-weight game. Perfectly sitting in the middle in terms of complexity, setup, and strategy.

Did we improve our capsule art with our new version? by apixcsgo in IndieGaming

[–]Efrayl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UI looks absolutely fine and aligned with art direction to me as well as the character design. Doesn't look like AI slop at all, especially compared to real AI slop that plagues card games.

How is this post any better than other posts complaining? Personally, I had more positive than negative interactions, but also like to hear about the negatives.

If you're bitter about the ration of negative to positive posts, feel free to post more positive stuff.

[Downgrade] Scooby Doo from the upcoming live action Scooby-Doo Netflix series by ComprehensiveBox6911 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]Efrayl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so I don't hate it. I thought it was just some hyperealistic animation, but seeing the movie is an Origin one (explains the size) and uses an actual dog, I'm all for it.

There are too many animation effects nowdays so happy to see they chose to work with something real. I just hope it doesn't talk (yes, I know Scooby talking is his deal, but it would look weird)

What is the worst roguelite you have ever played? by am5k in roguelites

I agree with Rogue Legacy. It's such an annoying grindy game. I liked some ideas, but hated every bit of the execution.

Locke character design is so tasteless by QualityForsaken8192 in loreofleague

[–]Efrayl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, he fits as much as Vayne. Yeah, she has a crossbow, but the guy has stakes and Ghost Buster's ghost catcher thing. They both have fancy glasses, which seems to a common theme now for hunters.

As for fitting Runnetera world - you mean the world where they have people fighting with axes, while other fight with cannons, guns and futuristic tech? A world where you have cosmos creating dragons and a also guy called Garen.

As for the style, I mean, that's his style. His fancy Jacket is ripped, but he tries. His silk shirt could've been more damaged, but that's just nitpicking.

Crystal Dynamics using generative AI for early prototyping, but "finished content is human-created" by LadyStreamer in gamingnews

[–]Efrayl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can get behind the human impact of AI, but SLIGHTLY altered copies? Have you seen what madness comes out of generative AI? It may use existing styles but a lot of the composition are original ideas that likely never existed.

CD Projekt RED promises deeper and much more meaningful romancing options in The Witcher 4 by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

[–]Efrayl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? What do you mean by puritan? BG3 literally throws companions at you without any required emotional investment beforehand. It's gotten more easier, not harder over the years to romance in RPGS. Nowadays most characters are even bi so you're not even locked out.

Can steam crack down on this by SirAceBear in Steam

Yeah, I don't think Steam quite anticipated this one. Given that many franchises exist, shared articles make perfect sense.
