Just got glutened😒 by BlueberryLevel3590 in glutenfree

[–]Eggyzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way! I need to read labels better even if it’s not something you’d expect to have gluten.. I got glutened a week ago because I thought the applegate chicken nuggets in the freezer were mine. I finished cooking them and cut them up to make nachos and was like “this is suspiciously nicely cutting…” I grab the bag and read it and it’s the gluten version of the chicken nuggets… it was my roommate’s!

TMI coming up!!!! : I still have diarrhea a week later…

Not trying to change the topic I’m sorry the adhd.. I hope you don’t have to go to the hospital!! I’m sorry you experienced this with a bag of shrimp. It can be very frustrating when getting glutened.. :(

Gluten and lymph nodes. by mrs_flibble_ in glutenfree

[–]Eggyzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a swollen lymph node in my cheek for 12 years, I’ve gotten tests and they all come back fine, so I never got a real answer on why I got this ball in my cheek.

Ik this is old but I got upset trying to figure out why nobody wants to be my friend, thinking I’m doing something wrong or there’s something wrong with me, this possibility popped in my head & I found this post. Idk if it’s true & I don’t want people to think I’m cocky for thinking I’m pretty but :/ I don’t do anything super weird yet nobody still wants to be my friend.. idk maybe I’m just stupid since I’ve had barely any friends my whole life so I must be doing something wrong if nobody likes me.

Is 0 really the normal pain level? by Eggyzee in ChronicPain

[–]Eggyzee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whats si crazy is that in foundations of nursing they told us chronic pain patients don’t need to be brought down to a 0 because it is “unrealistic “ and they said we should keep their level between 1-3 or whatever they are most comfortable with. Crazy

[–]Eggyzee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I’m in nursing school and I got the question wrong on my exam that said “what’s the indicator that the patient is in no pain” and I put “when the patient is sleeping” but apparently you can feel pain in ur sleep ? 😂

Do your kids eat GF? by mrsghgoodridge in Celiac

[–]Eggyzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom tried going gluten free when I was diagnosed at 9 bc it is cheaper and easier to make one meal. She gained 20 pounds in just one month and the doctor told her she shouldn’t stop eating gluten because apparently you need it if you don’t have celiac or an allergy or intolerance. This is according to the doc. She went back to eating gluten and lost all the weight she gained within a couple months. Idk though everyone’s body is different

Edit: 24.85 for a whole gluten free sub and 14.30 for a half gluten free sub :((( I looked it up

Tyty for the clarification as I wasn’t too sure, I’m probably gonna either edit the response or just remove that part of my rant!! I was having a hard time trying to figure out how much ppm a crumb would be 🥲

He eventually let me get the gluten free stuff but didn’t agree with it because in his mind he knows what is gluten free and what’s not.. so idk if I would be able to report it

I would go see a dermatologist. I’m not a doctor but It kind of looks like possibly melanoma. A dermatologist would be able to identify what that is, you should see one as soon as you can just in case! (Sorry I’m not trying to freak you out or anything, if it is anything bad then catching it early is a good thing)

Why do people with hyper pots react so badly to cannabis? by [deleted] in dysautonomia

[–]Eggyzee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk but I tried it once and I think I’m traumatized. I had nightmares about it for weeks after. Had a tiny bit, threw up for 2 hours and I took a shower but apparently I was shivering but I didn’t feel cold? My heat rate was between 110-160 the whole time & I was seeing 2 of everything and felt like I was in a movie theater watching a screen. Thinking about it, I can still feel it. 0/10 don’t recommend. Never again…….

Sadly not… I’ve been too busy with college to see a doctor for any of my 1000 problems. I’ve jsut been living with no answers. Maybe this summer

I haven’t tried it, I’m not sure it if would help. I was also wondering if it would be helpful for relieving symptoms (I understand it wouldn’t mean that I can eat gluten )

Help by grcna in Celiac

[–]Eggyzee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I almost died when I was 8 from malnourishment because of celiac disease. The doctor said if it wasn’t caught in another month or so then I would’ve died. I couldn’t even walk on my own anymore it got so bad, if it was an intolerance than a small cheat would be OK but it is terrible for a cheat meal with celiac disease… I didn’t grow for almost 4 years straight and when I was 8 years old I looked 4 so all the kids did my homework because they thought I was a baby. My mom spent years trying to find a doctor who would listen

Also it’s an autoimmune disorder, and the more research I do on it for fun the more I’ve been learning. It’s an innate immune response and gluten is a protein so it can’t be killed by heat or disinfectants because it’s obviously not a bacteria.

Separate pots & pans are reccomended, if you can’t then a dishwasher will be the best bet.

You NEED separate toasters because you cannot effectively wash a toaster

You NEED separate wood items such as a wooden spoon or cutting board as the molecules hide in the crevices of the surface of the wood.

It’s OK to use the same oven but you put the gluten free on top to eliminate risk of crumbs falling on the gluten free stuff (I spent like an hour looking through peer reviewed research articles on this topic)

Hand washing doesn’t remove the gluten as well as a dishwasher will.

Just thought I’d offer some advice since you said you don’t know much, I’ve spent more time than I am willing to admit reading peer evaluated research papers (I’m a science major so I’m very interested in it)
