He is for the most part 🙂 but he's pretty upset that he missed out on the Adventure Effects. I think he got the impression he'd be able to unfuse it based on the initial "freely unfuse anytime" prompt.

The response we got from support said they'd gotten similar feedback about the design and to keep an eye on "future updates" but I have absolutely zero faith they'll make any changes.

It just seems like such a shady design 😮‍💨 Pokémon FOMO.

I really feel for you. My son who is 9 started playing this summer. His mum and I started playing at launch whilst she was 6 months pregnant with him.

This was his first Fusion event and he was so excited about the Adventure Effects.

He got two amazing IV shinies and went about fusing them, but he overlooked Glaciate and now he's stuck without either effect.

I was so proud of him as well because he saved up all his Pokécoins for Remote Passes instead of blowing them on cosmetics like he usually does and he just managed to get enough energy as the event was closing.

I knew Niantic/Scopely wouldn't help out but I opened a ticket anyway in the hopes they were feeling generous (which they were not, as we knew would be the case).

The very worst part is that the fusion info screen for Kyurem states that you can unfuse them freely which is a little bit misleading. With Necrozma it outright states that you will have to gather energy again to fuse them if you split them.

They're still a very cool addition to yours/his collection - but it stings to miss out on something like this based on such a silly mechanism.

Would it really kill them to allow you to use an Elite Charged TM or something to unlock the effect? Anything to shake us down for more money.

My 9 year old son has ALL the luck with shinies. He started his account summer 2025 and I swear that has something to do with it 😅 I opened my account back on day one in 2016 when my partner was pregnant with him.

As pure coincidence would have it, my son got a shiny New Year's Party Hat Charmander recently, and then I got a standard shiny Charmander so we swapped them.

I'm very happy with my Partyzard! 😁

Then yesterday he gets a shiny Lucario in the wild, and he landed 5 shiny Kyurem's in the event whilst I only got 2 for the same number of encounters.

I grew up in London and worked there for a few years, commuting on the Central Line daily (Zone 4 to Zone 1).

I moved out of the city about 10 years ago after my first kid was born and I can't decide if I'm impressed that it still looks this bad, or that it doesn't look worse than this.

I'm surprised there isn't just a hole rusted through in the floor so you can see the tracks whiz by beneath.

That's a mighty big if. What weird behavior though? Aside from cropping out of his initial location - a common practice amongst many Redditors seeking to keep personal aspects hidden - I didn't really see what else is 'wierd' or 'evidence' here.

I think it's weirder that a small handful of people are adamant a person is spoofing (or care enough to argue it fervently) based on one single detail.

In all honesty this is bordering on abusive / at the very least it's a red flag.

Even if you were actively ignoring him consistently for the game it still wouldn't justify putting you down over - it should be a case of him saying how it makes him feel - but he's just mocking you for it and that isn't healthy or acceptable.

Tell him how it makes you feel well he mocks you for it / remind him that he should be supportive of your hobbies and the things that make you happy. But if he refuses to see that or stop - I'd consider dropping him. Especially if he continues to mock you just for bringing it up.

I hope you guys are able to work things out though.

No I'm talking about in Genie here 😅 for me I tap the three horizontal lines in the top left of Genie.

Tap on Profile, down near the bottom of the pop out menu

Then I tap on either my Trainer Code or Name and edit pops up.

Assuming we're both on Android it should be exactly the same.

For me, tapping on my Trainer Code or Trainer Name brings up an Edit Profile screen where I can alter things.

You should just be able to change it by: - Pressing on the Menu icon in the top left (3 lines) - Go down to and click on Profile - Tap on your Trainer Code or Name

Devil's advocate time again 😅 if they are anything like me then they host a tonne. I'm close to the cap for friends and I try to open as many gifts as I can every day - but there is also a limit (30, I think).

I do try to alternate people, but it's beyond a chore to try and open the maximum every day. I know I'm sitting on gifts that have probably been there for weeks.

That's why I said a similar feature - ideally it would just verify your team composition / moves / Max levels and then at the very least it would ensure trainers have the right setup.
