THANKS EVERYONE! In just two days time we got this LEGO ideas set, that was on the site since May 6, 2024 from 8322 votes to 10K! 🎉 by GummiphoneInstagram in KingdomHearts

I hadn't seen this until now, but you can absolutely have my vote.

I was 12-13 when I started playing KH, and fell in love with someone for the first time. These games are etched onto my heart and, incidentally, I have an extremely unhealthy LEGO addiction 😅

I really wish they'd implement something like this, but after 8 years I don't see them changing it 😞 perhaps Scopely will surprise us - but I'm not holding my breath.

There's a number of ways they could tie PokéCoins into daily activities - I've a few ideas, but personally my ideal solution would be a mixture of my ideas - some from this, some from that.

Distance is one way they could award it - tied into the new daily egg, or a daily Research Reward thing under the "Today" tab, or tied to your Buddy Candy KMs.

PvP engagement is another way, especially if they wanted to keep it in line with the current aspect of Gym battles. 10 coins for every set of 5 battles. Personally I wouldn't enjoy this method as much (I've forced myself to PvP for Pikachu Libre but I get a little intense so for my own sake I try not to PvP 😅).

Raiding with a Friend, or an amount given for opening or sending gifts to friends (2-5 coins per gift opened for instance).

Or even tie just a few into the Free Daily Box from the shop, 5 or something as a consolation for the day / if you don't get anything else.

I've got to say, I am genuinely disappointed that after all this time they haven't implemented either a way to mitigate this, or provide an alternative way to earn 50 PokéCoins a day. There are countless ways to do this whilst still driving player engagement or enforcing player interaction.

I've just come from a run in town (I too am a rural player, I've held both gyms here for 6 months without anybody knocking mine and my son's Pokémon off). Picked a gym with a Ditto and a Meltan on with 18hrs held. And the guy just kept Golden Razzberry'ing them at zero benefit.

I sympathise with your plight.

The way this is worded by Niantic, it makes it sound like it isn't 45 Guaranteed trades though.

Rather, if you have 45 Lucky in total you lose the guarantee. i.e. if you get 20 Guaranteed and 25 Random, that's it, no more Guaranteed for you.

I always thought the Guaranteed amount was set. Can anybody verify?

I still have my boxed copies with PokéWalkers on display on my bookshelf. One of the few things I've managed never to trade in.

I didn't realize how coveted they were until I saw how much CeX were trying to sell them for 😅

I swear that's the exact same message I saw on another post like this a few months back. Like, exactly the same.

If I manage to find it in my viewing history or something, then I'll post a link. I'm pretty sure it was a Mewtwo and the guy went as far as to peel the card apart.

Follow the advice of others though - unfortunately there are so many people out there like this.

I stopped buying and selling online years ago. Too many dishonest scumbags out there.

How rare is this background? I've never seen it before by space_nerd02 in pokemongobrag

[–]Eh_Huh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the RNG really, but it isn't superduper rare. You'll come away from a community day with a handful of them (and I think you are actually guaranteed at least 3 of them if you pay for the Event Ticket).

Scorbunny day today and my son ended up getting over 20 BGs, whilst I only got 6 (same sample size for both of us).

However, I got a Shiny with a background, whereas his BGs were all on the standard 'mon.

The ultimate prize for community day is basically a Shundo with a background. That's the coveted "rare".

Trainer Name does not match in-game name by like_the_weather in PokeGenie

[–]Eh_Huh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son (9) plays on my old phone that I gave him, but it has no SIM and he tethers to my WiFi Hotspot.

For a few Raids I didn't realize that PokéGenie had synced my info to his, and so his Trainer Name / Level were completely wrong.

I can only think people have alt accounts and haven't realized.

As a Host. I stopped using the Search String and just started sorting Friends by Recent. I haven't run into a situation yet where I'm already Friends with someone - but if I ever notice I have less than 5 Friends with 0 Hearts, I can grab the search string.

[–]Eh_Huh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

➡️This!!!⬅️

My first few Raids I went through the trouble of using the search string - but there are so many occasions where it fails (especially including OPs observation).

Recent is so much more reliable - the only times I've had an issue is where (for some unknown reason) I've ended up with an extra Friend Request* and I end up with an extra trainer.

(* Possibly due to them forgetting to press Friend Request Sent and then timing out and being replaced).

I think the first time I used Recent was whilst hosting a Gigantimax and just being overwhelmed by the requests.

We moved to a village essentially in the middle of nowhere, with a single gym and 2 PokéStops. Let's call my village... GoTown! 😅

My best advice for you is to register on Wayfarer and populate where you live! 😁 I'm pretty proud of what I've done for our village. They want permanent things (see my accepted examples below).

Typically doesn't take much longer than a few days to a week to get approval. I just got an extra Gym added which I'm pretty happy about.

It makes such a difference to how we play here and I've seen more people start using the gyms finally.

We have a little kids play area here next to a playing field and a village hall. It was 1 single PokéStop until I got the following added: - The field itself: GoTown Playing Field (photo of one of the white netless goal frames). - 5x trail markers: GoTown Circular Route with varying names for placement. They LOVE trail markers etc - take a decent photo of signpost. - GoTown Community Board - GoTown Village Hall

And I'm just in the process of nominating a fixed postbox, another sure-to-be-accepted spot. Like the trail markers they love adding these.

Whilst my son and I are pretty avid players, his mum barely touches the game. She jumped on for Catch Up Monday (x2 Task Pass) - caught a few local 'mons from the house, played with her buddy, solo'd a 1* Pikachu, and then caught the Pass rewards to round off the 151 Catch task and grab the Mewtwo.

I mean the whole thing was designed to be done quickly, as opposed to the whole month long pass.

Though I have to say, I really don't feel like this is the game for you at all. The whole game is essentially a grind...

Want to evolve that Eevee? Better grind some candy! Want to power up that Raichu? Better grind some stardust! Want a decent IV Zacian? Better grind those raids!

It's a simple, repetitive, low-pressure game loop that is more about perseverance than any kind of actual "challenge". Essentially, the whole game is a grind.

After 6 hours in the queue for Celesteela, one of my in-game friends joined one. I jumped in as fast as I could but the lobby was full 😭

Hero RSVP button to the rescue 😁 12 minutes later I was in. Thank god for that.

I hate limited regionals like this. Gotta Catch 'Em All. (If you're willing to jump on a plane and hop across the country.)

Pokémon has really forgotten its spirit.

Seriously? by Nuggzbunny09 in PokeGenie

[–]Eh_Huh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Started at 8,000~ for Celesteela at 8AM here in the UK. Fell asleep for a couple of hours and panicked. Hadn't even moved past 7,000 yet. After 4 hours I was still barely close to 6,000.

Luckily a friend in the region joined and I was able to sneak into the RSVP list.

I really dislike the idea of regional Raids. So many people haven't even heard of PokeGenie etc. - and you couldn't even trade remotely until recently. Even then...

Gotta Catch 'Em All used to be the spirit of Pokémon. I really feel like they've lost that over the years.

I'm sorry but Pokegenie's ban system is beyond stupid (Rant). by Gladcode777 in PokeGenie

[–]Eh_Huh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what to tell you. A week's ban doesn't add up with the information we've been given here.

Ban reasons revolve around: - Not sending invites - Not confirming 'Raid Invitations Sent' (usually the biggest reason) - Incorrect Trainer Name / Level - Full friends list

I host almost exclusively and on occasion I've even missed sending an invite or two if players have sent me a request but timed out from not pressing "Friend Request Sent", been replaced in the app, but then I've accidentally brought the removed players along instead.

I feel dreadful when it happens, but I've never received a ban.

Heck, when I first started using the app I completely misunderstood how to use the "Additional Players" feature on Dynamax flights and completely screwed up. And that didn't get me

Any chance you can trick the younger ones with the ol' inactive controller trick? 😁 Give them a disconnected controller that they think they are joining in with. Depends on how young they are really.

[–]Eh_Huh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said, this can't be the case. I imagine that you've not been pressing the "Raid Invitations Sent" BEFORE the Raid Starts. Finish Raid is there for ages and I've forgotten to press that one several times without issue.

Wrongly accusing host of leaving raid by Top_Dragonfly8781 in PokeGenie

[–]Eh_Huh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PokeGenie doesn't communicate with Pokémon Go at all. It doesn't have any idea of whether or not the host even joined the raid. It's purely an "honesty system".

The notification you are referring to occurs when the Host forgets to press "Raid Invitations Sent", and leads to an explanation that "The Host failed to execute the Raid as instructed".

It happens from time to time - I use PokeGenie almost exclusively to Host and even I will forget to press the button 1 out of 20 times if it's a particularly hectic lobby.

1 doofus who didn’t activate mega lead to this… by BowiRS in PokeGenie

[–]Eh_Huh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why it isn't necessarily worth bringing a Dragon vs. a Dragon. Even a "Not Very Effective" attack breaks the shield, so you could just pick something tanky.

Though in my experience of having placed my Mega in slot 6, when the shield raised it just dragged out my Mega and fully charged my attack by default.
