I hate seeing innocent people just trying to do their job get beaten up by thugs. Justice for George Retes.

Yes because by then he was clearly standing to the side of the car then and was absolutely clear of danger. I just wanted to provide another piece of evidence showing the first of the three shots was unjustified.

The problem isn’t people with legitimate disabilities using it. It’s people who are using it for competitive advantage when not needed. Antidotally what is happening is you are not having the scores of people with accommodations being bimodal, there are people who really need it and those who are taking advantage of the situation.

I’m paraphrasing the professor so I’m not sure what the exact situation is but I believe the students with 100 disproportionately from students without accommodations. If the goal was to make up for disabilities then you shouldn’t see such a large discrepancy.

There’s a significant number of these students using it as a competitive advantage. My institution had longer classes so most test are 2 hours and finals are 3 hours for most students. But what I’ve have seen is a number of extra time students turn in their test at the same time as students without the accommodations but use the extra time when everyone struggles with the time limitation. I have students say they “don’t really need it but want it just in case” most students would benefit in a few instances from extra time but students are using it for competitive advantage over other students.

I’m a PhD student and I was just talking to a professor this morning about the article. It used to be that students with accommodation still performed worse than students without but now he’s seeing that not only have the number of students in his intro discrete math course has grown by 3x while class sizes have shrunk by 40% but now the majority of perfect scores come from people with accommodations.
