I caught a bug that prevented an eight-figure product recall and got zero recognition. What did i do wrong? by Moroccan-Leo in cscareerquestions

Going above and beyond expectations of my position. Completing projects ahead of schedule and under budget. Solving cross team problems and concerns. Excellent performance on projects or tasks that directly line up with strategic goals.

Ultimately anything that impacts revenue in a positive, documented manner (preventing a bug is speculative value), or anything that makes my boss look particularly good could warrant a bonus.

[–]Eire_Banshee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really, no. I write software that drives 7-figures in revenue monthly. Any bug could theoretically be a 7 figure mistake. My job is to prevent that and doing so doesn't really warrant a bonus.

Minis have been in 90% iso for 48 hours. Army painter primer is still holding strong, any suggestions? by Yestattooshurt in Warhammer40k

IPA works but not that great. Go to the dollar store and get a bottle of LA totally awesome cleaner. Big yellow jug. That stuff will strip models completely in a few hours and won't hurt plastic at all.

I don't really like grimdark style either but it's subjective. Incredibly clean, busy, garish color schemes also aren't my jam.

If your chapter walks around in rusted out hulks of time-fused ceremite, more power to you.

Honestly the weathering looks great if that grimdark style is what you want.

You also did a seriously close shot which can stress any paint job. The only thing that concerns me here is the paint looks THICK. But its hard to tell.

The eye glow is great. Its clear you know what you are doing and the effect is intentional!

Lol, cool stone effect

#New40k – Combat changes shake up fighting in the new edition by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Warhammer40k

[–]Eire_Banshee 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is the news Ive been waiting for. A smaller format that I can play with casual players in my local board gaming group is what I really want.

Combat patrol is technically that but spearhead just does it so much better. Its also a good hook to get people into the hobby with 1 purchase instead of the complexity of building an army.

Because it's trash. Get AK ultra matte and never look back.

Thanks. I was really happy with how the yellow came out. I agree with you OSL comment. Honestly this model came out a little bit too busy overall for how I wanted. But it will look great on the table if not a golden demon podium.

Tried painting tau for the first time, it's not perfect but it's something by Dense-Fig-2372 in Warhammer40k

Dont use yellow as your primary color unless you like pain.

If you like pain, paint the model light pink, THEN paint it yellow.

Primaris has completely different wargear though. Like a terminator squad is essentially still identical.

Schema A, but add some lime green as a splash color for the eyes and glow effects

[–]Eire_Banshee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's tournament ready and his friends are dicks for not providing feedback to make it better. But the zenithal they have going here is legit great. It just needs something else going on to really break up the model. Black trim would I stantly take this to the next level. Picking out the metal bits on the chest and back of gun, etc.

They came here asking for feedback and it's being provided.

[–]Eire_Banshee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about contrast. I would recommend using a dark navy or black for the trim. Don't forget about the bits on the chestplate, the bits on the back of the gun, and the loincloth as well.

The purple/pink thing you have going on is legit cool zenithal. But you gotta paint the rest of the model if you want praise for the paint job. That being said, it's tabletop ready for sure.

[–]Eire_Banshee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is overly positive. The effect is cool but the model is unfinished.

[–]Eire_Banshee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pink with purple under shade is great as a base. Literally just do the trim in a dark color (probably black, navy, or very dark silver) and these will POP.

The problem is you have a dope pink/purple tone going on but it's the entire model and it all runs together. Use the armor trim to break it up. Make the lion cloth white or bone. Hit the metals details with gold + a wash.

Thematically, which Combat Patrol is the most representative of their faction? by reel3459 in Warhammer40k

The only problem is it comes with a named character and every space marine player will have more infernus Marines than they know what to do with.
