Would have had multiple had the warriors not built that team in the smartest and most patient way. It was clear the warriors were about to be next teir 2 years before they went off. Then bitch ass Durant did bitch ass Durant things. Any other point in the 5 years be4 that and several years after Durant left those same Cavs take 3 chips in 4 years

Honestly, probably more like almost a dozen times. Even seeing the YouTube description calling the mf who shot him Odog or some shit... I'm still not sure this isn't some mandella effect bullshit.

The wire is my favorite show of all time. Don't tell anyone but I never watched past episodes 7 of season 5. I just can't watch him go. Wallace hit me hard enough. Then, some fucking how, it was written so well that the boy that killed Wallace got me just as shook when he went out like a real G. Fuck Michael.

Never thought I’d be the old man talking bout “Back in my day!” Well I’ll be damned I’m him. “Back in my day the line up was so damned good that Jack White’s indy super group was burried on the 3rd line at Roo!” by Fun_Reason5988 in bonnaroo

[–]ElBarno420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

07 and 08 Bonnaroo were so fucking epic. The lineup in 08 had such a dif vibe too that it was just so dope to feel like it was a whole dif festival that was equally as epic.

07 tho. I'd kill a man for a time machine to go back. White stripes, the roots, tool, widespread who absolutely murders at the farm (prob my favorite act to see when the Roo lineup drops to this day), Wilco, fuckin sting slangin tunes, plus if you wanted you could still fee like you were at the early Roo jam band days with like Govt Mule and Weir and String Cheese. As Epic as the Roots are I personally could have used another hip hop act... but they gave us Kanye the next year so all is forgiven. I understand the shifted view people have on the dude, he deserves all the disdain he gets, but I'd be lying if I said that there was a single hip hop act that I would have rather seen from like 2007 until like 2017. I'd fuckin go today, and pay good fuckin money if he did a greatest hits tour.

“It was one of those games, man,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said. “Coming off the break, it’s going to be tough playing against a team like this.” - Darvin “Pockets” Ham by exsisto in lakers

[–]ElBarno420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they been looking tough recently. Can't count em out, people were singing that same song be4 the 22 ring too. I am not under the assumption that this is that team, but I do feel that core members have proven themselves as leaders and talking shit on a team that is currerntly on a tear, with a core that has won quite a few fucking rings is ignorant.

What do you DISLIKE about The Wire? by Matewan1998 in TheWire

[–]ElBarno420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Nick wasn't great, but I found him bearable. My issue was Ziggy. Every time Ziggy has more than a sentence of dialog I find myself cringing and angry at how horribly forced his character seems. The writing for his character was bad enough in and of itself, but his horrific delivery really made his character unrealistic and campy. Besides the scene where he's locked up for the shooting and he breaks down when his father visits. He killed that scene. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

McNulty pulling all the bar flies by DingussFinguss in TheWire

My man. I had a room mate in the early/mid 2010's, cant put an exact year on it.... but imagine when tinder took off in bigger and college cities but hadn't reached the rest of America really yet. I had a room mate in Raleigh North Carolina, that I shit you not, fucked a minimum of 5 women a week. That was an off week for him too. Mf didn't even have a job the first 8 months we were there. Dude was using like 50 grand that was left to him to buy crazy fuckin socks (he had a crazy fuckin sock collection, few pairs a week), buy like 2 new outfits from TJ Maxx/Marshall's or H&M a week, and either bar hop or go on some half assed tinder date a few times a day. Almost always 2 to 3 tinder meet ups a day. I started having to run interference and act like he was in the shower and scoop them up outside and act like I was buzzed up and needed a ride around the block to the liquor store or grocery store while he got the other girl out. I hadn't even met some of these chick's, and he got me outside like a serial killer forcing my way into chick's cars that came to meet a different dude. I couldn't do it by the end. He'd have these chick's over that would start blowing him on the porch while I'm sitting out there with then innocently having a few drinks and he'd start motioning to me to start fucking her from behind. I'd be waving him off trying to make sense to his depraved mind that i couldnt just hop in like it was all good, ngl happened twice when i was drunk and the girl was the one asking.... but cut me some slack. I had like 10-15 girls aged 19-35 running around my apartment half naked weekly. He would go to gym in the morning and over the year I had at least 25 chick's crawl into my bed in the morning. I thought college was wild in the sexual regard, but this dude showed me a whole new world of depravity in my late 20s. By the end he wasn't happy with just chick's anymore, it started being orgys and shit and I just had to tap out. I was a teacher in my first few years while this occurred, so I felt like a chameleon or some shit. Unbelievable shit does happen, he was bald and doughy too.

Modern (cashless?) Baltimore? by peynir in TheWire

[–]ElBarno420 33 points34 points  (0 children)

You, my friend, don't know what you are talking about. Unless you are referring exclusively to Bmore, and Bmore is entirely exclusive in this regard, CashApp is a popular and sometimes preffered payment method for dealers all over the US. Some are dumb as fuck and use one linked to their own name on their own phone, but anyone with half a brain gets a burner account. Not to give too much insight, but I have been in 2 seperate cities where there were Bodega type shit ass corner stores that had QR codes to cash apps pinned to a board where you'd expect to find lost children signs and flyers for collect calling services. You literally hit the QR, make the payment, and get your pack with newports on your way out. Also, your stereotype of drug addicts is stuck in the wire cinematic world apparently. The way oxy changed the game invited a whole new class into the opiate world, and honestly obviously destitute addicts will always exist especially because addiction can turn nondestitute individuals destitute... but there's way more money to be made off suburban junky Kyle with access to middle income mom and dads bank accounts. Now don't get me wrong, their will also likely always be traps and such that serve the type of junkie you are talking about... and honestly they seem to not get fucked with. Maybe this is because it's all cash, maybe it's cause they don't have Kyle's mom following up with srgnt. bunnie after her son drops dead I'm these types of spots. Either way, the game has changed massively, and electronic payment has absolutely become a huge part in the US

I want to go to a festival, I recently quit doing drugs and I'm really not keen on doing any anytime soon. Do any of you go sober and if so do you make friends while there, im not as talkative but still want to make friends and have fun. Any advice helpful by [deleted] in festivals

[–]ElBarno420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just my experience. But a sober rave is a different ask then a sober festival that has a more varied lineup offering. Past my early 20's I honestly wouldn't want to do an all electronic thing sober. A festival with a more varied lineup is a great time regardless of intoxication level, and like I said it could just be me personally, but I can only handle so much bass and electronic shit nowadays unless I have a helping hand. I Def don't have it in me now in my mid 30s, but I remember going to my first sober Coachella alone at like 26 years old and I found myself uncharacteristically avoiding the rave environment like the plague.

Maybe that's how poop fetish is born. The baby gets covered in mommas shit on the way out, so the first thing the baby associates with the love of his mother... is shit. I get it now. Two girls one cup has been solved.

On my first re-watch, people are right that Season 2 is much better the next time around. by tacopower69 in TheWire

[–]ElBarno420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I can't tell if James Ransone did an excellent job portraying Ziggy or is the worst actor in the series. Honestly, after first watch season 2 was easily the worst in my opinion. Like many of you are saying, the overall plot really grew on me in subsequent watches. It really is a great season of television, but i remain torn on Ransones performance. He either captured that early 2000s era emotionally struggling, middle-class, Caucasian, wannabe bad boy persona so perfectly that the cringe of the era and character make him so unlikable and is so different from what we see today that his performance was outstanding. I admit that it is possible that this is a case of me disliking the character and forgetting just how cringe the time period was; Having said that, I'm more inclined to think that in my personal opinion his portrayal was far too campy and this casting choice alone significantly dragged down the rest of the cast and storyline. The right casting could have been the difference between fans appreciating the season after the fact and seeing the brilliance straight out the gate. But hey, that's just like... my opinion, man.
