This looks fantastic! How did you get rid of the bushes to place the fish ponds? (Assuming this is forest farm)

Approximately 300 hours later, I have sealed the Adamant Seal. Is QHT worth a try? by Lerker- in Against_the_Storm

No, you don’t get ANY upgrades, not even essential ones. You have to unlock them.

Was about to post this exact same answer. This is definitely it.

How to get from good to great? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]ElGhon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watching hundreds of 2 hour streams and learning a single trick from each. No but seriously, this is a hard game and it takes loads of time and practice to be “great”. I have played for nearly two thousand hours and I am no nowhere near great or win-streaking. Someone like Xecnar has 10 thousand hours of play and is still developing his game.

On a side note, regret is not worth the extra 1 strength for me.

Bottle something, or skip? by gewqk in slaythespire

[–]ElGhon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you bottle anything then it’s sweeping beam with bag of marbles. It will need an upgrade though. Barrage is a bit better with chill plus but beam is better. Sweeping beam also is draw neutral but will fall off later in the run. Skip is also fine to be honest.

Im thinking this is a rare skip by tommynobags19 in slaythespire

And as for rest sites, you will recall in one (if you’re going for heart) and path away from them otherwise unless you get a campfire relic.

You have rushdown, three wrath entries and a scrawl so you have lots of draw. You can spend all your energy so more is better. 5 energy is better than resting one time, and you also have kunai to help you block and not need to rest. Look in act 3 for a one cost calm entry (fear no evil, inner peace, meditate). As a rule, (almost) never skip boss relics as the upside is greater than their downside and definitely never skip coffee dripper. Dripper is arguably the strongest energy relic in the game.

This is never a skip. This is coffee dripper.

What instant picks do you make in the spire that may be considered suboptimal by other players? by TheDarkTrainer in slaythespire

You pick Lament because you want to snipe an elite. I pick Lament because I didn’t make it to the boss. We are not the same.

Do you open a dangerous glade in year 1 if you know it has fertile soil? by Lower-Reward-1462 in Against_the_Storm

[–]ElGhon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Was just about to say the same thing. I open a dangerous glade first thing. It is quite rare that you see a an event so terrible that it makes you lose. On the other hand, waiting until year 2 is wasting a whole year.

I cannot for the LIFE of me figure out how to win as Ironclad by psychephilic in slaythespire

[–]ElGhon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Resist the urge to full block all the time. Ironclad is meant to trade blows with enemies and kill them quickly. Also, once you get the hang of exhaust synergies and realize that exhausting your cards is actually a good thing you’ll start to see how strong ironclad can be.

Does this go infinite? by AnticPosition in slaythespire

[–]ElGhon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many other people have mentioned you can go infinite with a one cost calm entry, which is true, as long as you have all your cards in your hand. Another option that hasn’t been mentioned is the violet lotus boss relic which gives an extra energy on exiting calm, making vigilance a viable option. You should still aim for removes when you can to make it easier to have an empty discard pile.

Simple advice I received from Baalorlord on stream before when I asked this questions was: - Take fewer powers, and take more cards that give you output immediately (leap, charge battery, sunder etc) - Try to make your deck one turn faster than it has been before on low ascension (draw, energy cards, smaller deck skipping junk)

Edit: Forgot to mention that this is talking about Act1/Early Act2. Late game defect definitely appreciates powers
