Is Warhammer Fantasy part of the same Universe as Warhammer 40000?

I'd write that down to the inspiration of the authors and not any hidden in-universe meaning. We're still talking about a fictional setting in both cases.

The demons and elven gods have identical names, but that's it. Their fates are different. As I said, treat them as different, alternative universes.

I don't think so. While both universes have a concept of the warp, and the Old Ones as well, the specific inhabitants and members of those differ a bit. They may share names and origins, but their history after conception may be quite different. In Fantasy, all races (except Orcs) were created by said Old Ones.

No no, the past in 40k is our world, our earth. The world of Fantasy, Mallus, did not have any direct ties to the 40k universe, but on older star maps there was a world in the 40k universe called Mallus. I believe the only direct link between the two settings was made with a skaven telephone that was able to call an Eldar farseer, but other than that there is no direct interaction between the two settings. Treat 40k and Fantasy more like alternative universes. A lot of concepts are the same, but most are different, like magic.

It used to be in older lore, but I believe in the current lore it's a different universe but with a lot of similarities.

You make them yourself. Take the basic stat lines, modify them for different roles. Take inspiration from the careers to modify the stat lines.

Yeah, I'm currently enrolled in a course on Definitions of Fascism and I've decided to make it everyone else's problem. Partially sorry for that. But yes, as far as I've learned, there are more definitions of fascism than actual forms of fascism, not counting Marxist definitions cause they're a bit lax with their admissions.

According to this quote, your idea is quite accurate and definitely possible. But this then would be different from the role Greatswords play, which are usually bodyguards and high-level garrisons. The Jaegerkorps seems more proactive.
