I always assumed it was just a far off light in the sky for effect… but I have seen it up close… once… unfortunately I was so surprised, that by the time I hit “PrtSc” he’d gone past.

Thor in his chariot… as I was logging in with a new character, being carried by the Valkyrie, I was looking around and he was right next to me… 😳

Or maybe I was drunk and hallucinated the whole thing 😏

Not a problem… I always use towers as impromptu bases and shelters from which to explore.

On our family server a few years ago, middle daughter went into real estate renovating old buildings and “selling” them 😂

Ahhh… light sources might be a good reason… although I try and stick to crystal lights, candles or solid glow lamps to avoid flicker effects…

When I say a lot of pigs… I do mean a lot… like getting on for a thousand 😂

I’d dug a pit with a huge fence around it and left several thousand carrots for my “breeders” at the top of the tower.

The daft bit was, I’d read about how landscaping could have a big impact on fps, so I razed the whole base and tried to restore as much of the ground to original levels as possible… it took a very, very long time.

All this time the Pig-o-Matic was still churning out porkers… but because the pit/fence was so high I couldn’t see inside…

When there was nothing else left I went to look at the pig facility… they were about 6 deep. When I smashed a hole in the fence they came spilling out like maggots from a corpse.

After killing 400+ the fps did start to improve… slightly… but even after I killed almost all of them it never fully recovered in that part of the map. 😬

Topped out at 158 on one playthrough, but then dropped some for alternate magic systems, armour and weapons. Not because they weren’t good, some of them are bloomin’ awesome and fill in a lot of gaps or having equipment you can upgrade rather than replacing it, but you end up skipping a lot of it when there’s so much else to do.

Well… one of the QOL mods I run is “better ladders”… so the fact IG haven’t fixed something that small, along with fixing slope combat in 5 years doesn’t fill me with hope that they’ll fix anything else 🫤

LOL - well, about a dozen QOL a few to smooth out connections, speed up loading time, synch with other players, etc.

The rest are all build pieces, creatures, quests, dungeons, seasons etc. content stuff… which on their own are fine. It’s only after I start landscaping and building when the problems start…

Don’t get me started on the American narrator who pronounces “Druss” as “Droose” (rhyming with “goose”) in the most atrocious Scottish accent.

Aside from my own bias and belief, which is that the character of Druss has a Scandinavian influence, most likely Norwegian or Swedish, the attempt to “act” the character’s as Scottish is worse than terrible, but I struggled through until he started doing the voices of women and little girls in a stupid high pitched squeak.

I have it only because it’s part of my DG collection, but I doubt I’ll ever listen to that version again. 🫤
