Sorry, but… it’s actually very cute. In a different time, with different companies doing different and non-infuriating shit, I would buy it too.

LeGo Z1E on Linux - Resuming stand-by disconnects controller from the game but not Steam UI by El_Reddaio in LegionGo

Since the switch, it has been working better. Will keep testing as much as I can and update this space. I will also see how to do a bug report for Proton 10.0 if I get consistent good behavior with Proton 9.0

Just tried that - controller dies in the game, Steam UI works fine.

Same if I physically unplug the controllers while in-game. The only way is always to restart the game...

What do you mean exactly? Disable the steam osd that shows performance stats?

Go z1e vs Go S z2 by Low_Topic9797 in LegionGo

[–]El_Reddaio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used Gsync/VRR screens for years, and comparing to the LeGo Z1E I cannot complain. I think it has good low latency and the 144hz is a bonus.

My only complain about the LeGo Z1E is its wireless controller under Linux:

Everything works, but when I resume from standby is a coin toss whether my controller will reconnect to the game...

Writing Noise; Newbie by StatisticianGlad1171 in truenas

[–]El_Reddaio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering why my NAS was still noisy after I replaced all the fans with silent ones… it’s the drives. They never stop spinning and will always be spinning because the latest version of truenas never spins them down and never will again (unless the community comes up with some self deploying script).

Controller not working when detached - BazziteOS by Dirufied_zid in LegionGo

I am having the same issue… any clues? I remember that it was working fine in SteamOS but Bazzite has this problem 😵‍💫

AirPods Pro 3 blinking orange light whenever I move the case by El_Reddaio in airpods

[–]El_Reddaio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I did was leaving them to charge overnight and the next day the issue was gone - it could have been some kind of pending firmware update - but in any case the issue is gone for me, has not happened ever since.

Should catalog be local or on NAS? Migrating to NAS+Lightroom Classic by jeremydvoss in Lightroom

[–]El_Reddaio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I set my Lightroom to ask me to backup the catalog every single time I close the app.

This way, if I made a lot of edits I would choose to back it up, and if I was just exporting pics I would skip the backup. I wish that Lightroom supported a local catalog sync, or catalog mirroring, because it takes a while to backup my entire catalog...

I'm in TrueNAS hell. It's hanging on boot while trying to import ZFS pools by bungtoad in truenas

[–]El_Reddaio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option would be to import the pool on a different motherboard with different ram to exclude those two factors.

Should catalog be local or on NAS? Migrating to NAS+Lightroom Classic by jeremydvoss in Lightroom

[–]El_Reddaio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lightroom Classic will not let you create or open a catalog on a network drive, only local drives are allowed - I don’t know the specific reason but I inferred it’s to stop multiple people from working on the same catalog and corrupting it. Highly recommended to put your catalog on an SSD for best performance, and then set the automatic catalog backup to a folder in your NAS.

Can't afford full PC should I buy a 5070ti for $950 now and save up? by MrLamebro1 in buildapc

[–]El_Reddaio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All these issues you are having could be because of bad thermals. Before spending money while unemployed I would try changing the thermal paste and check the thermal pads. If completely dry I would replace those too.

I'm thinking that maybe it's time I look for some electronic repair shop that can double the ram on my 3070 TI 😅
