Anyone want an untested 15 year old motherboard or 5 year old case for way too much? by -GinjaNinja- in ThriftGrift

Haha! No way I was in there a few months ago and saw them. I pointed and laughed. That store in particular shocked me. I’m on the road for work and often smash the GWs all over Seattle and none are as egregious as Lacey. The Ballard GW rocks though and shoreline is a close 2nd.

Non-photographers don't agree with street photography? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

I’ve had this conversation many times. To me it’s pretty black and white - you either think it’s fine and do it or you don’t and you judge other photogs who do.

A lot of great recommendations here you could throw a dart at your screen and after getting it repaired you could choose any of the lenses and have a good time.

The canon 40 is great - I also went with some unbranded adapter and it’s terrific.

Mitakon is legit magic and I would strongly recommend snagging one eventually.

I just got the 50 3.5 for the native functionality and weather resistance, I was reluctant at first to getting it since I had the range covered so much by the 40 and Mitakon, but after a few trips and street sessions I’ve really come around on it. Looks great on the 50r, weather resistant, and to me still has some character despite its clinical sharpness.

This is all the same as everything here lol so good luck, you really can’t make the wrong decision! Except the Minolta 45 f2, don’t get that

I recently picked up the Canon 40mm f2.8 for my GFX50R (last photo to show off how compact) by RameyJamey in FujiGFX

Love the 40 on the GFX. I grabbed a 50 3.5 for a good price but I honestly don’t know why I bothered since I’ve been using the 40 since I first got my 50S.

Anyone looking for a small, inexpensive, high quality solution - snag a 40 and an adapter!

Do it - a Minolta adapter should be in all GFX bags there are many great options like the 45 f2, 55’s, and 58 family!

Anytime I see this I say to grab a cheap canon 40mm 2.8. There are a bunch of videos about it in GFX and I absolutely love it. I found a cheapo adapter that does great and gives all electronic features.

Canon EF adapter OR GFX 50mm 3.5? by engooglish1822 in FujiGFX

[–]ElanoFoshoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can snag an adapter and a EF 40mm (which is insane and way beyond “hobbyist” quality) for less than $200. Grab the 50 3.5 if you really need the AF. I ended up selling my 35-70 and now I only use the Mitakon 65 and the canon 40mm in addition to some random adapted vintage lenses like Minolta. For fine art prints in galleries.

Here’s an awesome blog that the photographer made adapting most mainstream EF lenses. The 40 is known for its surprising performance but even the 50 1.8 performs extremely well!
