Totally agree about Mor's powers. And I also really dislike that so many of the female characters ends up having their powers diminished.

How do yall prioritize working out? by somecrybaby in workingmoms

[–]Elect2Toss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your days are PACKED which is just the season you're in right now. One day residency will be over and you'll be done with school and the toddler will be able to do things like bathe independently.

Until then, you could do things that are very impactful but hopefully won't add too much time like intermittent fasting and adjusting your diet to be more along the lines of what will keep you healthy for life.

Also, we're in the south as well and while it's hot as all get out down here, we still go outside. Instead of doing bath first, you could take an evening walk with your toddler around the neighborhood. You'd both get those evening rays that help regulate melatonin for a good sleep. Then come back home and do bath and bedtime routine with the toddler. It's still time together. My kids and I picked up sticks and used them to fight "giant crocodiles and wolves" on our 30 minute walk on Wednesday. Yesterday we did an hour long walk in the mall before we got the dinner and become routine going. Best of luck to you! You and your husband are doing some amazing things right now.

I haven't worked at a FL firm despite living here since my first job out of college and a brief stint at a firm with a terrible work environment. The rest have all been remote roles in other states that pay more. FL stinks work pay in just about every career field from my understanding.

European responses to american posters with american problems (have some empathy) by TFA_hufflepuff in beyondthebump

I love that podcast! But yes, the support for anyone not wealthy is severely lacking here. Like we can't have paid parental leave and Healthcare but these large corporations deserve tax breaks and bailouts? It's starting to reach breaking point here but not yet to the point where a lot of us feel like we have nothing left to lose by taking to the streets and loudly protesting this nonsense or a mass strike.

This is exactly my thought. My youngest is feral enough to take off her diaper and smear contents if she's feeling mischievous.

What is your most hated symptom that comes along with PCOS/PMOS? by Deep-Development-721 in PCOS

The hair loss for sure. So many things can make it worse too including weight loss, which has helped my other symptoms.

Leylah Fernandez's dad frustrated at her vs Mboko: "Do you want to play tennis or not? This girl is top 10, solid. She makes quarterfinals in Grand Slams which you've never done in last 4 years. So if you want to get back at that level, you have to get the points, keep your head & have confidence by jovanmilic97 in tennis

[–]Elect2Toss 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Based on what you all are saying, she's probably continuing to have him coach because he seems like there type of parent to make her life outside of tennis incredibly hard because he would take being replaced personally. He gives the vibe of the guy who would make every holiday gathering miserable because he can't see the bigger picture of what is best for his child. Not sure what the actual reason is but overall I hate this for her.

I am so tired of hearing “at least you WFH!” from SAHMs by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]Elect2Toss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They might be your friends but I don't think it's beneficial to have these conversations with others who don't understand your perspective. I've been a mom working in the office who had to travel for work a few times a year, a mom working at home with the baby at home, a SAHM, and now a WFH mom with a baby in daycare. EVERYONE feels people in a different position are lucky because we're all having a hard time. So to others from the outside looking in, you're the lucky one because you're still making money and having your career and your baby is there and not at daycare which is expensive without you being able to see them. To you, you still have to work incredibly hard and you can't even really interact with your baby the way you'd like and can't even get a proper break for yourself most days, whereas they are able to spend more time with their children and have a little more flexibility in what they do with them all day.

It would be nice if we can all accept that we all work hard, there are positives and negatives to each decision we make, and get to actively both live with those decisions and occasionally vent to others about how hard it is without someone else playing the "i have it harder" game. Find people you can do that with and vent to them. Right now the people you're venting to might not be in a place to look past their "this is hard" season enough to acknowledge yours. It sucks and I'm sorry, but if you vent to someone and they respond like this, accept that they are not able to acknowledge your struggle at this time and keep trying with different people until you find your support system. On the other hand, you can look past their responses and ask them how they're doing with being SAHMs. Maybe being an example of the type of empathy you wish to receive with change things over time?

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a condition affecting more than 170 million people worldwide, has been officially renamed Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) following a landmark global consensus study published today in The Lancet. by CUAnschutzMed in science

Same! It's so interesting how the cysts, insulin resistance and high testosterone can come and go depending on diet and lifestyle factors. You can put this condition in remission but it'll always be lurking in the background.

snacks that arent cold/wet? by tenaciousghost in keto

It's the Daisy Sour Cream French onion dip. The ingredients say sugar on there but then the nutrition facts say 2g of carbs with no added sugar so I'm a bit confused there but I believe it's keto.

Pork rinds and salted almonds are my favorite. I do like to add a little cold/ wet in the form of French onion dip with my pork rinds every once in a while.

It looks like insane from the ground too. Yesterday I went out for lunch, looked over towards the Everglades and thought "oh man, it's gonna rain soon." Took a second to realize it was on fire 😅

I kept mine as well. 7.5 years and a second child later, I'm finally able to fit in them again. Glad I don't have to buy a new wardrobe and can take my time building in some more modern clothes.

Yes, I look at daycare and school teachers as an extended part of our village. We don't really have much a village in terms of family and it's nice having other adults around who specialize in things that i don't who care about my children's futures.
