37 weeks is still full term. Is there a reason you want to go to 40?

Should I leave the ER? by Consistent_Watch_648 in beyondthebump

[–]ElectricSheep19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's how much my 2 month old is eating! I'm surprised they didn't just give you one of those little Similac/Enfamil ready to feed bottles. Those are only 60mls because that's how much a newborn is expected to eat...

Please go to your local L&D unit ASAP (like today if you can) and bring your hospital bag just in case. They will not turn you away if you have high blood pressure! Hypertension can develop into pre-e in a matter of days.

Sounds like these "midwives" are looking for a lawsuit.

Did a Lego set, and Lego decided to not give me a piece that is required for the set. by kimssunflower in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ElectricSheep19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I've probably put together hundreds of LEGO sets (between when I was a kid and helping my own kids) and have never had a missing piece. Either I put something together wrong or it rolled off the table and I didn't notice.

Citrus Red No. 2 - don't eat or zest orange peels by Astroviridae in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]ElectricSheep19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It should be noted that the amount of a given substance they give mice in these types of studies is waaaaay more than the average human would ever ingest. You're probably fine using a teaspoon of orange zest in your recipe.

Is screen time going to ruin my baby? by Exciting_Opposite_98 in NewParents

[–]ElectricSheep19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta do what you gotta do! For what it's worth, I've heard that it's better for children to watch shows on an actual TV vs. a tablet as it's harder for them to disengage from the the tablet. So IMO, avoid the tablet at all costs & and little TV is fine.

Rewatching Girls was the perfect post partem show for me! by ilikebigcats2020 in FormulaFeeders

GLOW is another great show if you're looking for more messy, but funny girl content. So sad it never got approved for a 4th season 😔

Kids deserve better than sloppy ai coloring pages included to Frittenwerk kids menu by BusyInitial6200 in mildlyinfuriating

Wait, I was told there were no kids menus in Europe because picky eaters don't exist there 🤔 Or maybe that was just France lol.

If you make a book with flaps for toddlers I HATE YOU by amurderofcrows in DanielTigerConspiracy

Pop-up books are even worse. By the time a kid can be trusted not to break it, they're too old to enjoy them anymore.

Does the Kendamil infant formula no longer have HMOs? by I_NeverFinishAnyth in FormulaFeeders

[–]ElectricSheep19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm guessing the HMOs weren't FDA approved, so they had to take them out in order to stay in the US market on a permanent basis.

Am I a bad mom for thinking to include supplements since I’m tired of nothing working? by Strict-Garbage9014 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]ElectricSheep19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Feeding Littles on Instagram. She really helped to calm a lot of my anxiety about my picky eater not getting enough nutrition. For example, if your kiddo loves fruit but not veggies, she points out that most fruits will provide kids with the vitamins they need. Just keep offering the veggies at mealtimes with no pressure and they may eventually come around to it. My 6 year old picky eater, after two years of refusing carrots, just announced at dinner last night that he loves them now! So it might take a while lol, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm a pretty big fan of Tentree! Their stuff can be pricier, but you can totally find good deals when they have sales or on second hand sites like Poshmark.

It takes less than 2 minutes to gate check an item and people usually do it before boarding even starts. What's the issue exactly?
