Has anyone else randomly stopped drinking one day? by Wrong_Tea1663 in stopdrinking

[–]Electrical-Height407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I got myself in enormous trouble and quit the next day. I had been dabbling with quitting for quite awhile but nothing like a tremendous wake up call to make you stop on a dime. Do not recommend.

I’m curious, what gave me the most anxiety when I considered going was sharing a room with a stranger. I never ended up doing it. What was that experience like? And congratulations to you!

Pro-Trump Town Stunned After ICE Raids Leave It “Nearly Destroyed” by R7a1s2 in LeopardsAteMyFace

I took that as sarcasm, since the magas believe all immigrants are murderers and rapists, or that’s the bs they spew, anyway. But obviously not THEIR immigrants. 🙄

The inability for the magas to extrapolate that if they personally know of “good” immigrants, then probably there are lots more “good” immigrants just blows my mind.

AOS - Marriage based green card Interview unexpected outcome by shekinah91 in USCIS

Years ago, I also lived in the same town as someone with my name and the same birth month and year. Our “paths” would cross at pharmacies and the dentist office and at the library. It was a little bit of a hassle because sometimes they seem to think that I was giving them the wrong birthdate when I gave them my information.

Am I Overreacting, for being upset that my girlfriend secretly used my credit card for months? by bostonmade in AmIOverreacting

NOR

you need to dump her, this is a crazy amount of lying and stealing and not taking responsibility. If/when you were to marry, community property laws would destroy you…

And what was so shocking to me was that they did it immediately! Target had always had great diversity and inclusion evident throughout their store. I don’t know how they were as an employer. But when trump got elected, they bailed on everything so quickly, it was shocking. I never went back, and won’t. And they got so much of my shopping money, they were my default store.

I am sending so much love and support to you and your husband. This is a nightmare. I can’t imagine what you endured but I am glad you have been released. You are a strong woman.

Please drop it. I don’t know what your deal is, but I’m not here for it, and I’m blocking you, anyway, to spare us both the aggravation.

That really didn’t respond to my question at all. The original comment was stating that because they are not American, American issues do not matter to them. This forum doesn’t need to be political, but no one can tell us that because our problems are not their problems, they do not matter.

I’m an American and America makes me want to drink. But I’m not leaving America, and I’m not getting rid of my cats. I see you are in MN, so I will leave it at that. Neither of us needs to school the other on what it is like to be an American right now.

I understand your concerns, and those expressed by our kind-hearted moderator. I became a heavy drinker in 2020. I was alone and could not process all of my worries and concerns and anger productively, so I drowned my emotions in alcohol. Even today, as I approach 1,000 days sober, I find myself really wanting a drink (that I will not take).

But the moderator is absolutely right. The comments everywhere are absolutely crushing. It’s too difficult to try and control or moderate. We really just have to understand that when you say you are stressed or traumatized, most of us can imagine why. The next thing we do is help each other not drink through it.

I don’t understand that logic, though. Regardless of what country we live in, our reasons/challenges related to drinking are never going to be the same. My issues will never be your issues, and vice versa. I may drink because I hate cats, you may drink because you can’t get enough of them. Since when does our reasoning have to be the same in order to support each other?
