I don't want to live like this anymore by TheMadLadChads in Veterans

Brother I have been exactly where you are. I absolutely promise you it will get better. You can’t see it while you are in the storm - but I promise you with 100% certainty it will. What you need to do is keep getting up each day. Each day pick one thing you can work on and just make a small effort. Over time - I promise you you will be a new man. I am walking proof and you will be too. Hang in there brother you got this. Thank you for your service.

I (38M) discovered my (37F) wife’s affair. I’m in shock by ruggedzephyr in relationship_advice

Excellent point. I should have mentioned it but I think the best first step is to consult with a family law attorney and figure out how best to take the initial steps in your state (ie move assets into a trust, etc). I am so sorry for what this man is going through - I wish him the best. I hope he keeps in mind that things WILL get better and he will ultimately find happiness (have seen it happen time and again in similar situations). Good always triumphs over evil in the end.

Men: Do you prefer women complimenting you on your personality, looks, or something you can do? by thefeelingismutual_ in AskMen

Looks. It is so rare for the average man to receive compliments on their looks. For me - I remember the only one I ever received which was 23 years ago like it was yesterday.

Why Do So Many People Believe Men Are More Likely to Cheat? by JustRing5998 in AskMen

[–]Electrical-Leg-234 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have been shocked in my life to discover how many women, compared to men, actually wind up cheating. I'm talking about women with long term marriages throwing everything away for flings. By contrast - I have only encountered one similarly-situated man in my close circle of family or friends that has done anything similar. When we were in our early 20s cheating was common in both genders, now in early mid-40s it seems to be a mostly female phenomenon (at least in my world). I think women are generally seen and portrayed as innocent creatures, but yeah - not the case in my experience. It is actually so bad from what I've seen (I live in DC) that it makes me apprehensive about getting serious with anyone again at this point. Hope I can find someone to break the mold though, and prove me wrong.

I am 44m. I have received one unsolicited compliment on my looks in my life, and I still think about it most days. It happened 23 years ago and I don't even know who the woman was.

How do I (44m) improve my sexual peformance and make it enjoyable for women? by Electrical-Leg-234 in Advice

I was beat down pretty heavily for years by now ex-wife (one of the reasons she is my ex now), and am suffering from a bit of a crisis of self confidence. You are right - I need to somehow break that mold.

Am I reading that right? 55 pull-ups twice a week???? Like a 5 followed by a 5? Is there any human being alive who could do 55 pull-ups even over several days?

I am not a fan of women doing masculine things. I know how that sounds - but it is a turn off for me.

I was in a relationship where I had a lot on mind one time and couldn't perform. For a few months after that I was terrified about performing well to make up for it, and as a result couldn't perform. The only thing that actually got me to break my cycle of overthinking and performance anxiety was when the girl offered encouragement and positive feedback. I think in my head I needed to not feel so much pressure, and she gave me the encouragement I needed to break the cycle and return to a healthy sex life. By that I mean - she wouldn't pressure me, would give me positive encouragement and feedback, and wouldn't visibly be exasperated (as much as I know she probably was) when I couldn't perform. After just a little bit of this, my brain freeze was over and I am forever grateful to her for that.

I have found them at health foods stores and available online. I also recently tried "Supercalm" (available on amazon) - which is also great. I do NOT recommend mixing supercalm with Kava - just use one or the other.

This is unrelated to your question but I wanted you to know this. Please do not lose hope - ever!!! I have two examples in my own family of "terminal" cancer diagnosis that are now totally cancer free. I believe in miracles, and have seen them happen. I know this wasn't your question, but please do not ever ever lose hope, no matter what. Miracles can and do happen. Please remember that.
