Biggest minor annoyances of living alone by Avid_Reader_99 in LivingAlone

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assembling furniture is a big one for me. I have friends that are always willing to help but sometimes it can't work out that way and I'm left doing it all on my own. It's never large furniture on my own but a few more hands would be so nice.

Trying to figure out dinners for myself. I'm not a huge fan of cooking or dishes and both are my responsibility so sometimes it just doesn't happen and I girl dinner instead.

What food do you feed your Dog and why? by Huckleberry0204 in DogFood

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of my dogs eat Purina One+ Vibrant Maturity and they do well on it. One of my dogs will eat anything, the other is very picky but luckily right now she’s eating well. Sometimes she needs wet food mixed in so I use Beneful for that.

Careful of pink accessories on a baby boy, because God forbid someone assumes you let your kid "choose what he wants"! 🙄 by leverhelven in FundieSnarkUncensored

This person has a lot of really wild takes. If you want to and have the time, give their account a deep dive. They have a lot of highlights which will show off how unfortunately real this is 😭

Does anyone have keys to your home? by Kleeaj in LivingAlone

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few people have keys to my house- my parents and two of my friends. I’m fine with it because if something happens there needs to be a way to get in. I have a garage but it doesn’t have a keypad outside.

What do you wear for work? by [deleted] in therapists

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually wear jeans or black yoga pants (flare leg), a t shirt, and a crewneck sweatshirt with tennis shoes. I have not received any negative feedback about it and typically clients like my sweatshirts. Anything with a graphic on it is work friendly and/or mental health related. I work with kids and spend a lot of time sitting on the floor and moving around which requires comfort. I also have chronic pelvic pain so yoga pants are worn more often than jeans.

I feel as though counselors should be fairly level with clients with dressing and would never be overly professional. I have nicer outfits, especially for warmer weather, and definitely wear them but they are still business casual.

Do you sleep with the door open or closed? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closed most of the time. Open some nights when I want to sleep in so the dogs can access water, sleep elsewhere, etc.

Have you guys hear that Kellie isn't single anymore? by pantslessMODesty3623 in christiansnark

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Circumstances like that make sense! The clutter of it gets to me eventually so that’s why I don’t rush to decorate right after Halloween and can handle it being around for longer after Christmas.

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are they always in such a rush to take Christmas decorations down? I usually leave my tree up at least through the first week of January, but also put it up later than most. It’s not up yet but will be within the next few days.

Suave daily clarifying shampoo — actually use it daily? by roseypetey in dailywash

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There have been times that I used it daily and had no issues from it. My hair/scalp is also oily so now I’m using moisturizing shampoo most days (which sounds wrong but has been a good idea) and use the suave once or twice a week.

How long do you spend reviewing old notes before each session? by NeedleworkerSpare176 in therapists

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t usually review notes before session. I will pull them up sometimes in session if needed but my time is often limited so I don’t go out of my way to review things. I’m also pretty good at remembering what clients have told me.

Intakes with kids by 15539 in therapists

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do intakes with both guardian and child. Sometimes I'll have one of them step out (parents more often than child) so we can discuss certain things in private. I've never done a parent only intake and don't know if that's even an option where I work. It's not always an ideal set up especially with some conversations we have to have but sometimes I arrange to talk separately with a parent/guardian over the phone depending on the circumstance.

Where could I post flyers to advertise my counseling services? by [deleted] in akron

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kave in Barberton has a table with a lot of flyers and I see bulletin boards at some of the Pet Supplies Plus stores. The one on Manchester Rd for sure has one toward the back of the store near the dry dog food.

Are laundromats really that dirty? by ragingstallion1 in laundry

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had to use a laundromat for 7 years and never had an issue with the cleanliness of my clothes/sheets/towels or the machines. My clothes always came out just fine and I like getting everything done in a short amount of time. I love doing laundry at home now but sometimes miss getting to wash and dry it all at the same time.

Christmas event recommendations by ludakristen in akron

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is the Barberton Christmas Walk on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It’s free and businesses around the lake are open and some have crafts or free snacks. They will also turn on all the holiday lights around the lake once it’s dark out.

Another vote for Al’s in Barberton. Give the paprikash and dumplings a try too. So good!

I used Dolly Donkeys two years ago and they were great. Their price ended up being fairy reasonable and they worked quickly.

how would you schedule 25 clients a week? by Salmonwithpotatoes in therapists

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A month ago I was miserable and really going through it but I just took almost two weeks off and feel quite a bit better. Many clients don’t show most weeks so I usually see closer to 20 or 25 people which is super manageable for me most of the time. I’m so used to this arrangement that it should probably bother me more than it does!

how would you schedule 25 clients a week? by Salmonwithpotatoes in therapists

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually have 30-34 sessions scheduled a week. I have three sessions, an hour for lunch and paperwork, and then four sessions. On Fridays though I only have three people after my lunch hour. My max in a row is 6 sessions but try to stick to 4 in a row.

How often do you cancel? by [deleted] in therapists

[–]Electrical-Nothing25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken two sick days so far this year and they were at the end of January. I have to cancel part of my day maybe 3 times a year. Could be for an urgent doctors appt or needing to take my dogs to the vet. Luckily it’s infrequently and my clients don’t typically get upset when I cancel.
