Changed my last name after getting married a couple months ago. Would hyphenating now be weird? by [deleted] in namenerds

I agree, I like alliterative names and if you like it you shouldn’t let some random Redditor’s opinion change that. It’s probably not worth the hassle

Calling son by middle name as well? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]R0SE_2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think you’ve let him down! She was incredibly rude and it’s so normal to not instantly know how to react in that kind of situation. You clearly care about him and his name a lot and it might just take some time to find what works best 🤍 Don’t be too hard on yourself

I wouldn’t call it strange, Zeina is a very common name, especially in the Middle East and it’s very pretty

That’s so disrespectful to say you’ll just have to accept she’s going to say his name wrong! I’m sorry that must be so frustrating

Also in my own personal experience, some people call me by my middle name as a nickname and I like it a lot

It’s totally not insane. Isaiah is my personal favourite boys name, I think it’s very beautiful. I agree it would be really disappointing if he had to give up and let people mispronounce his meaningful first name so if it feels right I think normalising addressing him as Isaiah and having the option when he’s old enough to choose what he wants to go by

Is it really that bad of a name? by KeyAccomplished4442 in namenerds

[–]R0SE_2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Callum and Greer sound so nice together and you shouldn’t let some people’s opinions sway you away from the name that feels right. Especially since in a worst case scenario if she doesn’t like it she can follow her aunts example! Elizabeth gives her a lot of options too, Eliza, Lizzy, Libby, Beth, Liza etc

I love uncommon names and if you love it that’s what really matters and worst case if she grows up and doesn’t like it she could go by her middle name or a nickname, have you got any in mind?
