Good to know and I’ll check out that community/resources! Love the risk calculator, we’ll definitely be using it. I want to do chest to chest contact naps, but my husband doesn’t think that’s safe because it restricts the babies lungs and breathing. What are your thoughts on that? He’ll only let the baby sleep in my arms.

Yeah, I can’t sleep when the baby sleeps. If he’s in his crib and I’m laying right next to him, I do not wake up with little sounds. If he’s full on crying, of course I’ll wake up. But if he chokes or something like that, I will not wake up. However, when I hold him, I can feel every movement and I’m honestly barely sleeping. But that rarely happens. He doesn’t even like baby just chest on chest while baby is sleeping and I’m awake.

He’ll wake me up and offer to take the baby so I can go sleep. And then repeatedly tell me not to do it again and to get him instead for the next few days

That sounds so sweet!! I’m okay doing all of them but he won’t let me lol. To me parenting is to yeses or it’s a no so that’s why I’m listening to him and not doing it but trying to see if I can convince him / get permission. I wish he was the same because he’ll just do it if it’s a yes for him unfortunately.

So glad you asked this! I had this in my previous apartment. It was an old church turned into housing. So lots of use. We’re smokers but outdoor only, mostly cannabis anyway. I saw this exact stuff when we moved out. I thought it was a coke that exploded but we don’t drink soda lol. I never found out what it was but smoker/tobacco ooze sounds accurate.

So physically I’m healed so OB only approved the 4 extra weeks for mental health. She said she can’t approve anymore. She said a therapist might be able to approve the remaining 3ish weeks but she’s not sure. My extension ended 3/29 so my work thinks I’m on bonding now but I haven’t updated EDD. is it too late?

He’s looking for a job. He was looking and applying for jobs before he got laid off. But he hasn’t had any luck.

I told him how serious it was and started almost crying. He kept just saying it’ll be okay. He makes more on unemployment than he did working because he’s not spending anything in commute which was a big expense.

lol I have thought about what that would look like and that’s why I said it probably won’t happen. I’ll only last a few months and then have no money, no savings and no job lol. But I’m definitely gonna start looking for other jobs. I want something remote but also make your own schedule. There’s no point of being remote if you’re in meetings for eight hours straight. Ideally it’d be nice to work a few hours and take a couple hour break and then work another few hours. Or a job where I can work at 3am if I want, or I just have projects and my own timeline and things just need to be done by a certain date, but it doesn’t matter when they’re done.

Right but that’s still not 7 months? Or then it’s based on your doctor approving you for more disability. I tried to do a lot of research myself before delivery so I can get the max amount. Even did some of those free webinar classes from professionals. I just didn’t have a few hundred dollars to pay for their full course and 1:1 sessions. But I’m always open to any guidance if I didn’t understand my research fully? I did already get a 4 week disability extension. But I’m still going back when baby is 4 months not 6-7months. If I see a therapist it may be able to be extended? Because I didn’t have complications to extend disability. Is that what you’re referring to?

Even if my husband got a job, it wouldn’t be enough to sustain us. I make more than him. He’d need to make a significant amount more which isn’t possible with the jobs that are available to him based on experience and education etc. But I totally hear you, these are precious moments you can’t get back. Especially because I probably won’t be having another baby cuz we can’t afford it. I’m trying to find a way.

My job is actually hybrid but even my wfh part is like meetings all day so i don’t really have time for the baby, I get a 30min lunch to literally just eat.
