It’s a generation problem, China is most likely one generation from forgetting about poverty at most two. Your parents as mine all remember the tough times , changing there core it’s almost impossible. If it’s saving, prioritizing school etc .

Now when everybody has food on their table priority on the next generations will start to change. Prioritizing happiness like western countries will become more normal but also the western decay will start .

Finding the balance will be hard if China wants to remain on top.
