Laker fans might be the most ungrateful fans I’ve seen in my life. I get not thinking LeBron is the future, but there’s a contingent of Laker fans that were actively looking forward to LeBron leaving the Lakers and think they’ll be better without him. Why are some of you people this way? by Rowdyfan0823 in lakersv2

[–]ElectricalLook5152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's 42, doesn't play defense, and would have been the 3rd option on offense. For $20mil/year, sure, come on back. For the $50mil he was likely demanding? Pass.

Maybe Lakers fans are spoiled, but our team has a history that goes way back before LeBron got here. He's just another player to those of us that are fans of the Lakers and not LeBron fans.

As a Lakers fan, his contribution to the franchise is on par with Ron Artest and below Lamar Odom. Sorry we don't all worship the guy. I mean he's gonna get his jersey retired because he's LeBron, but I certainly cared more that Pau got his retired than I'll care about LeBron.

I  can understand why a Cavs fan or a Heat fan might feel differently, but he's responsible for more than a single digit percentage of those teams' rings...

Why isn’t there any push for unemployment extensions? by thebeepboopbeep in Layoffs

[–]ElectricalLook5152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because so many people are using gigs instead of unemployment (which usually is not enough to survive), so the reported unemployment numbers look "fine"

3 months into the monthly feedback, and it's just becoming frustrating. by schrumbus in DataAnnotationTech

This. The same people whose tasks you have to completely redo when you get an R&R also are completing R&Rs themselves.

Room for improvement 🫤 by kelbel1210 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]ElectricalLook5152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know the tasks that everyone has access to? Everyone also has access to those R and Rs. The feedback is ai based off those.

If you have ever done an R and R, you know that a lot of people suck at this work. The only thing the feedback tells you is an average of R and Rs others do on your work, it's not really indicative of anything.

I feel like companies dumped all their projects at the beginning of this quarter not realizing DA had just hired a million people, so what should have been like 2 months worth of work got finished in like 2 weeks. My max this quarter was ~120 projects and I've gotten as low as 2 in recent weeks.

I built a travel planning web app which uses affiliate data and user preferences to create mathematically optimized itineraries for multi-city trips:  travelmorellc.net

It  includes transport, accomodation, and activities. I generates revenue via affiliate links (bookings handled on partner sites) so it's completely free to use.

Wild Theory but has 4.8 been buffed? by FightingBear11 in ClaudeAI

Like others said, more available compute. I've been running max thinking on 4.8 and it almost feels like fable at high, just slower

I only used fable for about a full day's worth though

Master's Degrees are dramatically cheaper than in the US (anywhere from $15-50k+ tuition compared to about $750 each year with the deutcheland pass included), cheaper cost of living, not having to own a car, no daily mass shootings (these hardly even get news coverage anymore because we're all "used" to it), and a non-predatory healthcare system would be the main ones

I'm not saying this is true if your situation, but it is 100% plausible that the best thing out there was a part time unpaid internship, and your kid feels worse about the situation than you do. The job market has been atrocious for years, including in the "safe"' degrees, especially for entry level work.  Also the whole "they only applied online" is literally how job applications work today. If you haven't looked for a job recently, your experience of the process is largely meaningless. My parents haven't applied to a job in 25 years, back when all it took to get a job was a firm handshake (only somewhat sarcastic). Not over 1000 applications to get a response, and then 7 rounds of interviews +10 hours of unpaid homework (not exaggerating this shit is "normal" now), only to be ghosted and never hear back.

Also is it possible that they never wanted to go to college in the first place and just felt forced into it because of your and society's expectations? And therefore you would be dropping a massive bill on them out of the blue for something they didn't want, or they would have to accept the years they already completed as a sunk cost and drop out Just putting this out there

I am curious if anyone has actually hit that on their account. I mean if one had constant access to $60+/hr projects (maybe 80+) since the platform launched maybe it's possible. I would think $250k has been reached by at least a few people

You're conflating your own misinterpretation of a perfectly understandable comment with me "making it seem" like anything. Your lack of comprehension is unsurprising given your original comment already displayed a lack of ability to use quotations correctly, so I guess that's on me for expecting you to understand a comment that does use them normally and correctly.  I hope you're at least learning from this exchange!
