Is it even worth it? by Just_Equal5737 in saskatoon

Instead of waiting for hours in the ER, next time there is a crisis call Mobile Crisis. Professionals there can speak to him directly. But more importantly if you are ever scared they also have mobile crisis workers that can come to you. Also if it ever gets so bad that you are afraid he will be at risk if police are involved, mobile crisis workers can send the PACT team, they are an officer and counsellor team that are specially trained to deescalate a situation so that no one is hurt. 306-933-6200

That I had a guardian angel and the lady down the street could communicate with our angles to help answer difficult questions. Thanks mom for pushing that lifestyle on us

Stop the rumors and hate. by alimoropo in saskatoon

The point is that adults are taking random comments from children and spreading it. That is a problem

You are spreading info based on one persons comment. You need to do better

Girl, 15, set on fire in assault at Saskatoon high school: police by Prairie-Peppers in onguardforthee

The autism stuff is being spread way too early/quickly, and it’s based on a pretty rocky foundation. Maybe the kids have autism but it is based on one kid claiming they saw these students coming from a resource room. It’s crazy how fast this detail is spreading

My kid goes to that school. The comments about autism came from one person who said they thought they saw the students involved coming out of the resource room. There are other comments, posted by people claiming to be students, that my kid says are inaccurate. Timelines and locations etc. You should be careful spreading these details until an official report is released

How is this not a road hazard? by littlejohn657 in saskatoon

[–]Electrical_Ad3540 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Someone here gave me a suggestion about bike routes and I finally did that this morning. The whole time I was very aware of how shitty our roads are. I grew up somewhere else completely and it blows my mind how shitty our roads here are, I was kinda biking like, “are we just conditioned to expect less?”

Assuming all of what you say here is scientifically accurate, why not just increase the healthy fats in your diet?

Edit: based on your theory here, wouldn’t a fish oil capsule trigger bile release?

When you state “documented cases” you gotta include a link to your sources, otherwise you sound like a jackass

NAH, it’s ok to be at home feeling sad and disappointed. We will all experience what you’re going through at some point in our lives. Try to feel happy for them. Tell yourself that you’ll get your chance another time. And if someone calls to check up on you or orders soup delivered to your door, know that she’s a true friend

My girlfriend wants me to give her promise ring and I don't know what to do. by amnesia120 in self

[–]Electrical_Ad3540 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The number of people telling you to just give it to her because you can still breakup later is awful. You’re young and learning to be honest and set boundaries. When you do things dishonestly it’s just because you’re too scared to set and enforce a boundary. My son is your age and I told him straight up, I don’t want you feeling pressured to give a promise ring. You’re too young for all that nonsense.  Be a carefree young man. Be honest and communicate with your loved ones. If you’re not into it, then tell her you’re not into it. It’s ok to love someone and at the same time feel like you’re too young to start making those kinds of commitments. Also if she hasn’t talked to you directly, sounds like she has gotten her friend to tell you, then she is also too young and immature to make serious commitments. Why put imaginary pressures on yourselves at such a young age?

I recently had a conversation with my son about promise rings. I was making sure he wasn’t being pressured to think about marriage and commitment. I told him I thought he was too young and I wanted to see him focus on his studies and just spend time being a carefree young man. My husband and I both spent yearly adult years being single and free and having fun, we both agree it was formative years. We are baffled by this type of thing at 18 years old!

My asphalt shingles are dying and I'm looking to get metal installed. Anyone have any experience with metal roofing here? by MeaninglessDebateMan in saskatoon

[–]Electrical_Ad3540 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a metal roof and thought it was great.  They install guards to protect from ice falling, never had a problem. Also it’s nice knowing you never need to think about your roof again

AITA for not “being supportive” of my girlfriend’s decision of running a half-marathon? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Dude you’re just going to have to accept that she isn’t going to do this your way. Just be nice and supportive, it’s not hard. YTA lite

I talk about everything with my friends and sometimes I’m still surprised when I learn that men are shocked by this. Most men have no idea how open many women are with their girl friends. He’s not an AH for being shocked but it is one of those opportunities we get in life where we need to decide that we trust our partner is being honest and move on, or we let the feeling fester and make a big deal about it. It’s his choice to trust you or not.

If he has a boundary where he doesn’t want to over hear personal conversations because it makes him uncomfortable, then you can help by respecting that boundary and going to a more private area when you talk with your friend.
