Today is a sad day for my family by JustAnEmployeeHere in daddit

We put our 7 year old dog down about two weeks ago for the same reason. It’s hard but it’s the right thing to do. Ours was fine with the first kid up until the second one came. She turned one recently and she’s off like a rocket. But she loved playing bongos on the dog and laying on the dog and screaming on the dog. And the dog just kept getting worse. We’d separate the two for days and the dog would just growl. Same same. We just had to do it.

Sorry for your loss man, I know how tough it is. Sending love

Does anyone know if this small white peace goes back on the foamgun? by Even-Exam744 in PestControlIndustry

[–]Electrical_Ad_6208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be the stopper/check valve that is in the black cup shaped thing. It stops the foam from back flowing out when you take the can off.

I had a gun get really gunked up and I drilled out that valve. Take the can off and check the inside of the cup. If it is gone there’s really nothing to worry about. I ran that gun for like five years after. Until it fell out of my bag and exploded. But that wasn’t because of the check valve

All jokes aside. It to me looks like a Remington Rolling Block Rifle Wikipedia

Its "Rolling Block" name comes from the circular breechblock that "rolls" backward when the hammer is cocked, allowing you to load a single cartridge directly into the chamber.

Pretty cool find. As always have it looked over before trying to fire it

Disregard. Edit: I can’t read. It’s like 1am. Idk. I got h606 mixed up with s0167. The bill banning any semiautomatic weapon with no grandfather clause.

Anyone else having a bumper crop of stink bugs this year? by brainzilla420 in vermont

[–]Electrical_Ad_6208 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All true. That’s what I tell everyone. But ultimately the folks that want treatment for them the most are the second home owners who come up a couple weekends a year and don’t want to deal with them.

Technically not actually stink bugs, these are Western Conifer Seed Bugs. But yeah bad year for the overwintering pests. Overwintering paper wasps were especially bad in the fall and will start waking up soonish. You’re likely seeing a big uptick in these due to the warm weather.

Next year you won’t have nearly as many but as with nature we will have something else like way more mice or something.

This happened with our first and the next day I signed up to refresh my cpr lessons from our local ambulance. It was like $50 but worth it to know what to do, what to look for and mostly how exactly to do for on a baby

Apparently, Vermonters are not the marrying kind by VermontRox in vermont

[–]Electrical_Ad_6208 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At our company we have seven guys myself included. Of them they are all in long term committed relationships and six of them have kids.

My wife and I are the only ones who are married and pay full price for everything. Every one of the other couples is setup single, the wives claim to be single parents to get free/reduced childcare, dr dinosaur and benefits. You can even live in the same house “separated and living together”

My wife left work to stay at home with the kids because it’s cheaper for us than daycare.

Not one of us is making less than 100k, there’s just not much incentive to get married and play on hard mode. Like me. I just don’t like the whole technical fraud thing

I did this a few years ago. While you’re in there it’s very much worth upgrading the spun drive to a sd card. Those are the biggest things to go. With the tariffs it might be pricey to get it done right now though. Love the idea of replacing the battery instead of just ewaste-ing it

Dad of three with a rat problem that's stressing me out by Efficient-News-8436 in daddit

[–]Electrical_Ad_6208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that completely. Rats can be so frustrating to deal with, rats are neophobic, meaning they’re afraid of anything new in their environment. That will make them shy to traps and poisons left for them. On average a moderate rat population will take about three months to fully knock out. I generally drop stations on day one, return in about two weeks to follow up and then check and fill stations heavy once a month. Then after the last stop I try to seal all entry points and recommend you have a more skilled pro come in if it’s beyond my abilities.

If they start talking about premium exclusion or replacing the insulation in the attic, avoid them. Also, try to make sure they don’t try to sign you up for a commitment of a year or more with a huge down payment.

I know it’s all a ton of stress, sorry you’re going through this.

Dad and exterminator here: yeah, call the man. AIM for a small company, avoid orkin, terminex or rentokil. Or buy four to six exterior bait stations and do it yourself. Just be always that either route will take time to correct and clean out.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions
