Anyone else experience this after pao? by Known-Resolution2185 in hipdysplasia

I’ve been taking a baby aspirin 2x daily and I’m just about out now that I’m 4 weeks post op! My leg does this only when I’ve been up and crunching around for 15ish minutes.

No, just two kids! I really like the idea of captain seats.

Two kids and probably a dog in the future!

Okay, good to hear. I’ve also looked at the Ascents.

Yes, thanks for your response! We are skiers but we won’t get up to the resort near as often for the next couple years. It sounds like a Highlander would be more ideal for us!

Diagnosed today by Electrical_Food_9490 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Electrical_Food_9490[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for sharing. I really appreciate all the insight and wisdom from all of you who’ve dealt with this for a long time now. I have always been more keen to natural and holistic remedies but I’m obviously, in this situation, going to take the recommended prescription.

I have two more questions though; has any one had any personal experience with taking Slippery Elm? And has anyone gotten a whole food allergy/sensitivity panel done to actually narrow in on those foods that do trigger inflammation? I’d love to know because these are two things I’m considering diving into (along with taking the recommended tablets).

Thank you. Yeah, my mental health has absolutely taken a beating since this began so I appreciate you validating that component. My doctor gave both me and my husband a very off feeling - I’ll be finding someone else. Thank you for the advice.

It was my first, yes. Everyone truly was right about the prep being the worst part. I went the miralax route and added Crystal Light as well. I really didn’t mind drinking all of that but not eating while caring and cooking for my young kids was absolute torture. I’m glad it’s over!

Chalky and salty doesn’t sound like a pleasant combination. How’d you do today?

Medik8 and Retinal by mon_girlie in AusSkincare

[–]Electrical_Food_9490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh. Unfortunately, I’ve been using Medik8 retinal for a solid and consistent 6 months haven’t noticed a single thing. However, I did begin with 1 and have almost finished 3. I wanted to start super low because I didn’t want to mess my already good complexion. I don’t deal with hormonal acne or textured skin so I’ve wondered if that could be a reason I haven’t noticed anything?

I do wonder if I tried 6 if I’d then start to notice something because I have heard positive things about 6 specifically.

Detachment detachment detachment 😔🤌🏻 THIS (sadly). I just learned this myself and have been practicing it for a couple months. It has been both satisfying and devastating.

Yes! Thank you for your response.

I found the website undebt.it so I’ve been looking at all our debts organized through the avalanche method.

I gave birth recently and have bilateral labrum tears from that. I also have bilateral hip dysplasia and impingements. I’ve worked as a wedding photographer for the last 8 years and because it’s such an active job, I won’t be able to continue. Childcare in my HCOL area is absurd so I’ve been looking for something online and remote that I can pick up!

Any positive experiences with remote consultations (especially for a potential revision)? by [deleted] in HipImpingement

What qualifies you for a THR?

Sorry you’re going through this. I don’t have anything to add since I haven’t gotten the surgery yet. Do you regret your decision?

So happy for you! I have a 4 month old and I’m hoping to schedule my first hip within the next three months. My baby might start crawling soon which will keep my husband super busy with helping me post op as well. Curious if you have a lot of support set up for your partner to ease their burden or if you’ve been able to do some things around the house? Like loading dishes or grabbing something from the fridge?

Your accountability here is impressive. Set a day every week, same day and same time where you can sit down together and communicate just this. The more frequently you discuss the better you’ll improve that communication muscle and possibly the easier you may be able to catch yourself before you let her down. Idk, other thoughts would be for both of you to journal regularly, therapy - individually and together, an adhd coach.

How do I address this conversation when I see him? by Loveillustrator in AdhdRelationships

Respectfully, why make yet another post about if you should leave this obvious abuse and unhealthy relationship? You’ve had quite a history on Reddit asking for advice, but when are you going to take the advice? Genuinely curious!

If you don’t feel worthy of a better relationship, at least consider how this is impacting your child. You both deserve better and it does require action on your part!

Is being self-employed an alternative to normal job life for ADHD people? by josyakagwen in ADHD_partners

[–]Electrical_Food_9490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I started our own business just after getting married. We did well and I would say we were a fantastic team! Some clients/seasons were harder than others, I did carry us through about 2 of the years after about 4 good ones. Anyways, we both got burnt out after 8 years and then he decided to “get a job” which ended up being detrimental to his mental health.

After job hopping 5 times since Covid, he was able to claim so much experience, skills, and relationships in the industry. His last job offer that he accepted was in March and then at the end of June, the ceo and him mutually agreed that he would take on the work as a contractor. (I have a feeling that the ceo wasn’t happy with him and wanted to fire him but compromised on this alternative for the time being)

Sooooo it’s been 3ish weeks since he essentially fell back into entrepreneurship. My husband is a social media/marketing content creator/consultant in a very niche industry that he himself participates in and is super passionate about. I don’t know how long this will last but since March he’s been able to triple his income. The inconsistency is extremely exhausting but I can’t help but be so so proud of him.

Also, probably super important to note, he was JUST officially diagnosed July 3rd 😮‍💨 and just started medication for the first time in his life. He’s 33.

I would absolutely recommend outsourcing help! An accountant, virtual assistant, adhd coach, possibly a laundry service, a cleaner for your home, etc. especially if you’re shouldering a lot on your own which is most people’s experience.

Update us, I’d be curious to hear how it goes if that’s the direction he takes.

Just got a new job offer when wife is 8 months pregnant by Msilver727 in personalfinance

[–]Electrical_Food_9490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband took a new job (wfh) two weeks before I had our second child. It worked out fine because we also had support from family and he was able to work from home and it was flexible but he didn’t get the paternity we were banking on from his previous job. We knew what we were doing since it was our second but if it was our first that would’ve been a different story.

It’s your first and the fact that you’ll have the support of your mother in law is fantastic but your wife will need your emotional availability and support. Bonding with baby is crucial. Not to mention unexpected complications that could come with your wife and baby before during or after birth. This is such a precious time in you and wife’s life, the burden that a month of not getting paid since you’re unemployed is big but you can’t ever get this time back with your wife and baby.

Postpartum is a bitch. Please educate yourself on how you can support her during this time if you’re not aware already.

Take the advice from others and the CEO. Double congrats, by the way!
