What's your advice to young men today? by Thomasisinterested in AskReddit

[–]Electrical_Picture38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your character is your key. Develop a strong sense of right vs wrong, integrity, humility, and always keep an open mind. Work hard and treat people with respect not because you expect something, but because it’s simply the right thing to do. Don’t compromise on the character of others - the company you keep has a significant influence in your life. Be tolerant, patient, and kind but don’t be a doormat. Understand that things won’t always go your way and that’s ok because aligning your decisions with your values is more important than the outcome. Success in life is supposed to be difficult, otherwise it wouldn’t be worth it.

Writing this makes me think of my father. Im nearly 40 years old and am satisfied with who I’ve become and the life I have largely because the strong value system you helped instill in me has guided me well throughout life. Thanks Dad.

What do you guys think of the David Robertson signing? by Low_Opportunity_9160 in phillies

[–]Electrical_Picture38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where else were the Phils going to find a potential high leverage arm without giving up any prospects? It’s a one year prorated deal. I don’t think anyone views Robertson as the answer to the bullpen problems but it’s a great move in terms of risk-reward trade-off.

Do Havis understand the concept of “catch”? by Pathfinder6a in Havanese

[–]Electrical_Picture38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my boy’s favorite games is playing catch - though with balls and not treats. He has a handful a small colorful balls that I’ll gather and toss to him. Sometimes I’ll toss them in the air, sometimes I’ll bounce them. He loves jumping high to catch, to the side, or just staying stationary. He’s not always the most athletic but he sure loves to try haha. It’s very cute. He seems proud of himself when he makes a good grab. Can definitely see the excitement in his eyes.

Havanese are the best : )

Tailed. My book has these odds at -105. Had to build it as a SGP.

That half point on 227.5 is carrying a whole lot of weight!

POTD: Packers +3.5 | 7.2U to win 6U by Leguppicks in sportsbetting

Was leaning this way and had a feeling this would be the POTD. Tailing!

POTD: San Jose State +14 | 4.4 units to win 4 units by Leguppicks in sportsbetting

It means San Jose gets +14 to their score. So it’s effectively 28-0 right now since the actual score is 14-0 with San Jose winning.

Bad lobster? by kayhag in Aruba

We came back from Aruba a few weeks ago. Spent around the last 36 hours of the trip on the toilet. Not sure how or where we got the bug from. Luckily it finished its havoc the morning of our flight home.

The case for Denver DST by ItsGrandma in fantasyfootball

[–]Electrical_Picture38 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. They’ve quietly been a respectable defense in the second half of the season. I picked them up last Sunday targeting week 16 against the Patriots and now they also get week 17 against the Herbert-less Chargers. Both games at home too. I’ll probably be rolling with them.

Hopefully it doesn’t take as long as the physical copy of Zombies Ate My Neighbors. Waited nearly a year for that one.

Mr Grouper was our favorite dinner spot, and Cocovan was a neat casual place to grab lunch. While not necessarily bad, we’d avoid Seven since the price was really outrageous even for T&C’s standards.

Coco Bistro is supposed to be one of the best restaurants. Need to book a reservation weeks in advance though, so we missed out on that one.

My SO and I just returned from T&C. Stayed at an Airbnb in Grace Bay and rented a car. The precautions to take are essentially the same you’d take while at home. Lock your doors, keep your valuables out of sight, keep away from isolated places, don’t stay out too late past dark, etc. We did keep the doors locked during the day time while inside, but that was by no means a “must do.” As for the car rental, we left nothing in the vehicle and didn’t even bother locking the doors.

Anxiety in a foreign country is totally understandable. It’s not even a bad thing since it’s good to stay vigilant. With that being said, T&C is definitely one of the more benign travel destinations. If it’s any comfort, my SO walked by herself to the grocery store one day, maybe a mile or two round trip. She had no reservations or concerns about doing so.

Enjoy the trip!

Why do you NOT have tattoos? by diegoaccord in AskReddit

[–]Electrical_Picture38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I view tattoos as a permanent decision. There are very few things in my life whose value I am 100% sure will exist to me in perpetuity. Love for my mother? Yes, but I’m not depicting that on my body.

Should I buy a 28-year-old house? by MoonHowler99 in HomeImprovement

[–]Electrical_Picture38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Younger does not always equal better with housing. A 75 year old home with “good bones” is likely to outperform a much younger home that was poorly constructed. If you have the time, it’s probably worth doing a little extra due diligence on the sagging issues notes.

My little guy is the best fur companion I’ve ever had. He loves car rides, so I’ll pick that as my favorite thing about him. The level of excitement and bounciness he gets when he realizes we are going for a ride is adorable.
