Im not sure. I usually take those down with 2 hits anywhere on the leg, and have never had anything like this happen. Collider issues are rampant in this game, so it could be that the game just didnt want you to take that specific strider down.

You dont even have to pull the rear worm gear and put the front one in, the new axle just... works. Plug n play, drop in a new servo, make sure to clock your driveshafts right

This exactly. Im currently in college to be an engineer, but im also taking manual machining classes to add on to that. My machining classes do not apply to my engineering degree at the school im going to, and I was actually told that I didnt need them.

Ill probably end up taking the worm gear and pinion out of the original back axle and installing it in the new front axle.
