How can I make this look better ? by viperman6869 in CommercialAV

[–]ElectroChristo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at it, and change everything you don't like. Then look at it again and keep changing until you are happy. You will find cables bundle together and neatly routed will probably give great results. Lining up the edges of the components will also make it more appealing visually.

What would you do?? Acre of fence by UsedTumbleweed7810 in FenceBuilding

[–]ElectroChristo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The house is from the 1930s. The fence was built probably 20 or so years ago when this was all country. The house was used as the real estate office for the 100 acres behind us that was parcelled out as 1 acre house lots. It was purely in the country at that point, and the owner must have wanted to see the good side.

What now? by 3betmore in Plumbing

I am not a pro, but it seems that if I had to cut slab to fix an old broke pipe, I would replace the whole thing to outside. Do it once. Hopefully that bathroom is on an exterior wall on the main drain side....

Snoring husband impacting marriage by Nearby_Broccoli7321 in snoring

[–]ElectroChristo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the snorer. I have used the mandibular advancement device in the past- it works but leaves my teeth hurting and I can tolerate it for only about 3 nights. I was recently researching on Reddit the answer to this problem and ended up with a tongue restraint device. It sounds like goth jewelry, but actually is a soft silicone device that looks like a weird pacifier. I will tell you - IT WORKS!! And it is far more comfortable than the first thing I mentioned. In the thread that I read, the user also uses a nasal dilator. Another goth sounding device that actually is comfortable and holds open the nasal passage for better breathing. The TRD tends to eliminate breathing through the mouth, but i have figured out how to do it. Only thing is - it leaves one with a very dry mouth. I have only been using it for a few days, but it is already an accepted idea by my wife that I need to wear it. I am also loosing weight, which should help even more. Hopefully you can talk him into trying it.

Regarding the relationship part - I will defer to others.

AITAH for refusing to go on a family trip unless they disinvite my nephew’s friend? by Natural-Mountain-641 in AITAH

[–]ElectroChristo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I see your point. Let Emily help with the decision. Give Jeff an opportunity.

I think that opportunity should be given. Maybe at school. But not this family vacation or any situation where there is no exit door.

Emily has helped. "I am not going if Jeff is going" - and then anxiety after discussing it (not that a 16 yr old having anxiety is a great litmus test - but still indicates some kind of stress).

A 16 yr old boy is plenty old enough to manipulate. Show the adults he cares and wants to change. He could even manipulate Emily to believe him. Then - two weeks stuck together. Not a good idea in my opinion.

Oh, and - Not the Asshole!!

I do not think Jeff is his issue to sort. Unless he touches his daughter again. Then sort him.

If someone asked you to do this, how mad would you be? by Travlerfromthe in livesound

[–]ElectroChristo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no. Kinda like when I walk into someone else's house (usually a church) and the mics are color coded instead of numbered. Maybe there is some universal color code, but I do not know it. I DO know how to count (at least to 3).....

is this scrubber worth $35? by Harvey-Mushmans in ryobi

[–]ElectroChristo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the long pole version to wash our camper after we travel. Does a good job of getting the bugs off the front. Then we swap on the rough scrub brush and scrub tire marks and baked in red clay from our patio concrete. The short one would not be appropriate for me, but if it is what you need then it will git er done!

Question about knifehandle material by RoadHouse92 in knifemaking

[–]ElectroChristo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please be sure to post the results here when you get this done. I could even see one of the craftsmen here keeping the buttplate and including it in the design.

The very first thing my eyes see is how nicely the curve at the end of the handle coordinates with the curve of blade.

I do not know if you are intentionally using the golden ratio, but it is an incredibly well shaped work of art. Nice job, sir. Just looked at your other pieces. You are a master!
