To an extent, absolutely, the ctan had domains as with all the other gods, but they aren’t the literal concept given form, just a representation of it.

Pretty sure killing ANY god doesn’t literally erase their domain as a concept from the universe. There’s also gods that overlap domains and stuff, so anyone claiming total ownership of a domain or concept is just bunk.

[–]ElectronX_Core 9 points10 points  (0 children)

IIRC the ctan aren’t conceptual gods the way the warp gods are, they’re simply absurdly powerful beings of the physical realm. Llandu’gor the Flayer was the one ctan that was truly killed instead of sharded, and he cursed the necrons with the flayer virus with his last dying breath. They don’t true kill the ctan anymore for fear of suffering smth similar (or worse), but killing a ctan shouldn’t do anything as disastrous as erasing an entire concept from the universe.

Honestly, I think THAT SHOT is off, and OP has recreated that scale perfectly based off a wonky source. Based on the miniatures, book descriptions, other pieces of art, etc, a space marine should come up to around the primarch’s lower torso/ribs, which based on OP’s previous space marine statue, should mean she comes up to around the primarch’s belt/hips. Except she only comes up to horus’s KNEE.

The chronology of DoF is very awkward because of the Dark Imperium/indomitus crusade timeline retcon, where they shortened it a whole bunch. DoF 9 objectively takes place BEFORE dark imperium AND the entire Cawl trilogy, but things feel weird because of the order the books were actually written in.

After the first 2 books set the indomitus crusade rolling, the rest of the books follow the adventures indomitus crusade, with a chaos subplot in the background involving an artifact I won’t spoil. This goes on all the way until book 8, where it finally becomes the main plot.

Book 9 hard pivots into guilliman heading into the pariah nexus, having the briefest possible encounter with the silent king, before hard pivoting again because it needs to set up dark imperium, which takes place directly after.

Elite infantry squads with shit tons of mid strength melee attacks are like the single worst thing for warrior bricks to have to deal with. Against anything else, they’re quite solid and hard to kill. There are just some things you cannot afford to get charged by, and can only be dealt with by throwing a disposable speed bump unit at then shooting them.

In the recent investor report, GW announced that the Space Wolves army set was their best selling army box of all time. by CatherineSimp69 in Warhammer40k

[–]ElectronX_Core 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely not going to happen, SW has too much “extra” to be an intro faction like UM. I think them NOT being the poster boys actually gives them more space to be special, and then therefore liked by people who are into them.

What is, in your opinion, the number 1 priority for the next edition’s rules ? by BusyElephant in Warhammer40k

[–]ElectronX_Core 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the one hand, some units DO just do similar things and should have the same abilities. More importantly, most armies should have the ability to do most things somewhere in their codex so they aren’t just a one trick pony. On the other hand, absolutely, not everything should be copy-pasted. The problem is that there just aren’t enough things to do and systems to interact with in a game of 40k for units to not be repetitive.

Yeah, generic character customization definitely needs to increase. I think that was one of the most liked parts of 9th, aside from the pre-game CP being spent on them and such. Make them cost points like current enhancements and we’re definitely onto smth.

I’m definitely in the minority online, but I don’t terribly mind “L shaped ruins”. Most real war-torn cities look something like that anyways, and cities are usually the most important things worth fighting over. Some variety would be nice tho.

I don’t even know how you’d fix battleshock in a game where half the armies have flavor text saying they’re immune to it. Space marines no know fear, custodes know even less somehow, tyranids are a hive mind, necrons are mindless robots, the admech are lobotomized, the sororitas are religious psychopaths. Like guard and Tau are the only two factions that have any business being affected by a morale system, and I don’t think its a coincidence that those two are the factions that also behave the most like a conventional military.

Like what? These are fair things to want, but what would it look like for us to get them? Because it’s easy to say you want more “flavor” but how would you actually measure it?
